DX 10 I'm scared mommy MS just ate my wallet
MS will undoubtely control the OS industry with the release of DX 10 it will have security coding in it that will prevent emulation by linux users, tho I'm not a linux user it does bother me that people won't have the freedom to use the OS that they choose to. It also boggles me how this isn't a monopolization move that couldn't get them in trouble with the law if they do prevent people from having open coding and have something that everyone needs to play their games like dx 10 not be open to any OS. The new DX10 will offer polygonal shading which is supposedly new technology ( I don't claim to completely understand the techs behind this all) but the graphics are astounding cheggit out http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?o...43&Item id=43

Re: DX 10 I'm scared mommy MS just ate my wallet
I understand now why you told me to wait Nil, so it will probably be next year before I can build my system which sucks... and MS cornering the market is pretty sad, puts most in the sore position of having to go with ms's new os vista, or using xp to get the game content that they want. Pretty lame if you ask me. I keep coming back to this post heh, with this new shader it sounds like hardware advancements too so are Nvidia and ATI gonna have to bow completely down to microsoft and wait for the advancements to the technology and make new cards for this shader instead of a new driver?

I hate that MS is forcing the issue, though. Having one standard is good for technology (and why it's come so far so fast over the past few years). Throwing in another standard will slow both paths down.
