two questions

I will be building a new desktop sometime soon. I am pretty sure I know what I want as far as parts go, but I have two quick questions:

1. Would it be worth waiting for the Intel Conroe? If so, when is the projected release date? I've heard August.

2. Is it a bad idea to get a cube case? The one I was looking at can be found here. I know that I'd need to get a special power supply, but how much weaker are they in comparison? Also, as far as cooling goes, will I be shooting myself in the foot by getting a cube case?

Okay, that was five questions. For the record, I have no real limit on my price range, but am shooting for $1,500. This is obviously going to be a gaming PC, and I'd like to look at it as a long-term investment.

Re: two questions

As far as Intel if youve read the section at all you know im not a fan However with that being said there is going to be an increase in performance by waiting for conroe until AMD shoots back. On the flipside AMD is going to be dropping there prices dramatically so you may be able to get more power for your buck depending on what you were shooting for by going to AMD.

Cube cases and gaming rigs in my experience are not the greatest of ideas unless your doing liquid cooling. They as you said are awful for cooling and will high performance parts shoved into the thing it will run very hot. I would recommend a Lian Li mid tower. There not huge but have plenty of space.

Power supply these days I recommend about a 550 for single cards and more if your looking to go SLI. Let me know if you have more questions
