Old Soundblaster users
Do you have a SB card in the Live! range or older? Do you have a motherboard with onboard sound too? Does VSoH keep crashing at seemingly random intervals?
If you answered 'Yes' to all three questions then do as I did and remove your SB card and use the onboard one. Vanguard now runs more smoothly and rarely crashes since I did this. The techies amongst you might be able to say why this improves matters, but if you have the same problems try it - it worked for me  Just FYI - I had a SB Live! and now use the onboard Realtek AC97. My FPS went up from 15-20 in the wilderness to around 25-27. I still get big stutters in cities, but that's probably my old PC. Hope this helps others. Gotty |
