Feedback req on planned CPU 'upgrade'

(Hi guys, been away months - we had a baby - he is 6 months now and I am about to get back on the playing MMORPG thing a little - never cancelled, just let it ride - and LOST 6+ chars worth of mail/auction from being there too long witohut logins)

I currently use:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (Toledo 2.4 Socket 939)
ASUS A8N32-SLI nForce4 SLI x16 MB (2 full x16s)
WD Raptor 74GB 10K RPM
WD SE16 250GB 7.2K RPM
FSP Group (Fortron Source) FX700-GLN 700W PSU
Antex P180 Case
2GB Crucial/Mushkin(?) memory in 2 DDR sticks (PC3200)
BFG 7900GTXOC512 video card.

I want to upgrade my old SONATA II cased AMD 2100+ XP processor to being a 64bit dual core. So I figured I'd do as minimal an upgrade on my 'game' system as possible and move the old parts to the Sonata case and put the new parts in the P180 case.

Parts looking to replace with:

Intel C2D 6850
ASUS P5K Premium MB (P35 Chipset)
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) PC2 8500 (DDR2 1066*)
~$665

* IS it worth going to 1066 on ASUS instead of 800?

$665 buys me a small increase in perf of my main system. Let's me later buy more memory without feeling like I wasted my cash (DDR1) - I'd like to have 4GB right off, but it's still expensive, so figure 2GB now and add 2 or 4 GB for the remaining 2 slots later on (which hopefully by then I can use a 64bit OS :P for games) and I get what I've been wanting a long time - a faster expandable (starts with 2gb) dual core to do 64bit and multithreaded linux coding on. The REAL reason I wanted to do this now is that I am already using it to host a pair of websites and all my remote vids/pics for family - before I REALLY work on spiffing it up - I wanted to not waste the effort on an already ancient chip/mb. The Linux box now gets 4800X2, 2GB, & new quiet MB.

I was also going to buy a WD 750GB HD (I am NEARLY OUT - keep offloading pdfs/video/pics to DVD) for $180, but decided to keep it lower and chug along - can always replace the 2ndary drive and copy stuff at later date (but this means needing to my linux server re-osing, so I may change mind... too bad I have a 250GB ATA on it now and not SATA - I'll try to use my buying history to get an extra 10% off and if so, I'll get the drive.)
