Need Help x.X;

Hi guys!

I'm building a new computer so i can play Vanguard and I'm having a hard to Finding a good Graphics Card. I Have around 150-200 $ to spend on one. I've been looking at the evga 8600 GTS superclocked but I've been hearing bad things about the 8600's. I would like to play Vanguard at high settings if possible but I'm not sure if a 8600GTS could do that. So if someone could help me out X3. Oh yea! so far i have a Evga nforce 590 and a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz.

Thanks for the Welcome! . I've been having a real hard time finding a Graphics card for my new Computer x.X;;. I'm Looking at the XFX 8600 GT XXX at the moment. I'm just trying to find out if it will run Vanguard at medium Setting to High setting And if it cant What card out there would be good for around 130$ to like 150$. Thanks for the help!

I would look seriously at the Radeon X1950 XT! It's better than my 850X and I love that!!

If you're not familiar with Toms Hardware, you might want to be. The page I'm pointing to talks about best deals from just a few days ago.

Make sure you have enough RAM, too! 2gb is really useful for this game, and since SoE is actually working on performance, it rocks! Not sure what speed your CPU is, but....

Well So far i have 2gb of RAM, a Evga nforce 590 Motherboard, a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz Dual Core , 250 Hard drive , 500W Power supply , Thermaltake Damier V5000C Case with 5 fans :3. I found a BFG 7900GS Overclocked on newegg For like $149.99 and a mail-in Rebate thats brings it down to 119$. From what I've read on that site is that the 7900gs and 1950 pro are close but the 1950 being alittle faster. Would the 7900gs be a good card for my computer? and how well could i run Vanguard with all my stuff? Thanks for all that help too ^.^.

Make sure the graphix card is compatible with your MB!! That would be one of my biggest concerns. The next would be the compatibility with the game! It does have really great reviews, like this one!

Check out this thread where the card you're talking about is mentioned a couple of times! That's the best I can suggest, since the guys....*looks around with squinty eyes*...don't seem to be wanting to HELP you!

Thanks for the help! again X3. From what I've read my Motherboard should be compatible with the BFG 7900gs (I'm not all that great with Computers ) it says it needs a x16 PCI Express port and my MB has two of them...so it should? X3. Someone said they got around 30 fps outside and 20 fps in towns @ balanced settings with the 7900gs. Is that good? sorry for all the questions X3. Thanks again for all the help

They just went out of stock on that 7900gs x.X;; , just my luck lol. I found a site where someone got 40+ Fps on a 8600 GT on Balanced Ultra High. Heres the site http://vnboards.ign.com/vanguard_sag.../103980775/p1/ I really like the XFX 8600 GT XXX for some reason ( probably because it comes with a free game X3) wonder if i should go with that. I'm going to upgrade to a 8800 later on so i just need a card that will play the game good so i think i might go with the 8600 GT :3.

I would check it out with ppl who know more first. Read the reviews in Tom's and see!! There have been problems with the old FX versions. Don't know if this carries over, but it does cause a stigma.
