Re: the necromancer
You only get one pet, the abomination. This pet gets upgrade as you level though, with the highest upgrade coming at level 50 (Awaken Abomination III).
You get a spell at level 10 called Necropsy that allows you to harvest parts from corpses, with a chance of getting something called a graft - addon for your pet that can give bonuses to the abomination or special attacks (which you can control). There are also several temporary "pet" spells that reanimate corpses to fight for you for a short time only. Currently the class has a few mishaps (ie pet damage is a bit low at higher levels). However, I enjoy my necromancer and am contemplating playing one at launch. Feel free to check out our Necromancer Section here in our WikiSphere.

Re: the necromancer
so u can really full control ur pet by using his skills also? is not like in eq2 wher u can only engage and disengage in fight? what kind of pet is the abomination u get is it a melee type or caster type? can he taunt? or can u make ur pet to a caster pet by using the parts u loot from corpse? is it a good dps class also if u count the dmg from ur pet and ur dmg together?

Re: the necromancer
Take a look at the section (I don't wanna copy/paste from it). If you still have questions, ask away (after you read!)

Re: the necromancer
yeah i read the wiki it seems to be a cool class but from the spelllist it looks more like he has strong debuffs and some good dots but can he keep up with other dds? or is more like a support class with all those buffs debuffs and stuff he has

Re: the necromancer
strange dot classes r usually strong in long fights but weak in short fights but necro seem to me very weak i played one to 10 to but well i think u have to be higher to say really how it is. but on skilllist compared to other spellcasters he seem very weak to me and pet doesnt seem so strong also atm.

Re: the necromancer
Yeah the plight of the necromancer in EQ1 was similar - very weak after being too overpowered at the beginning. I guess they're a little gun-shy after that so erring on the side of caution I guess. After playing one for 6 years I'm not sure I want to go down that road again... I was interested in the rogue subclasses but the rogue class is just plain rogue - no brigand, bandit, or swashbuckler... or assassin - too bad about that. I don't get how a monk is rogue class oh well. I guess I have to go read about the other caster classes...
