Magical defense seems more beneficial. If we can tank a decent amount of melee damage while using it, we could be THE tank versus AOEing boss encounters (hello dragons of Everquest)
More importantly, I hope we get some cool shield effects using magic abilities. Ice shields, Fire shields ect...would be interesting. Love spell effects. |

I'm hoping for the anti -magic tank sort also but would like to have reactives like the Coercers have in Eq2 atm, A reactive that when the target casts a spell the power used x certain % procs dmg.
So they cast and that in turn does dmg to themselves ![]() Btw anyone heard anymore news on if they are going to be in game when it comes out? I only heard that its one of the tricky class's to make and balace. Figers crossed.

Personally I envision the Inquisitor as what if a EQ1 bard could tank. Since it is rumored to be a Psionicist / Tank sort of class they will probably have stuns and some sort of mezz crowd control. They will probably have Extremely high personal resists to the point of almost being immune to cast attacks. They will probably have damage shields or some type of psionic defense. Possible if not a DS then in the form of a replenish able rune. They will probably be able to ether or combination of self resists, group resists, counter a mobs magic, or maybe even reflect that spell back to the mob as some of the Inquisitors dps.
Where I see the main Inquisitor function on a raid is not so much protecting the people in the raid such as healers and other dps that might pull agro, but as a raid ability in of themselves. Say Paladin is tanking undead dragon because they have all around abilities best suited for that. But the Paladin is not equipped to deal with that one one irritating and devastating fireball effect. Well an Inquisitor could potentially have the main tank on their defensive target and when the perception that the dragon rears its head back to unleash a devastating fireball, the inquisitor does a rescue on the main tank forcing the the fireball to hit the Inquisitor which is easily resisted or even reflected back to the dragon. Since they have said that rescues do not generate agro.............when the rescue wears off it flips back to the main tank and raid continues. But being a tank class the Inquisitor would be able to even though not as well as the Paladin tank the regular attacks for the duration of the rescue. That is what I personally would love to see the class become. But who knows we'll just have to wait and see. Zilo |
