Re: Which platform would you play Vanguard on?
Having played FFXI on a controller I have to say I liked it more than playing DAoC or WoW with a keyboard. If they have some option for streamlining controller use (an alternate UI would be the way to go, but it might not have to go that far depending on the default UI) I would play it on a 360. It'd be cheaper than fixing up my PC (mine has some kind of mysterious illness) and I like console games more anyway.
Edit: One thing against porting to the 360. FFXI was held back a lot by being stuck with lesser hardware (the PS2). I don't know how the 360 compares to PCs but it should be brought to attention.

Re: Which platform would you play Vanguard on?
Well, good point on the price of an X360 vs. the price of a PC... I still want Vanguard on PC, though - wouldn't look good if I got an Xbox. (Nintendo geek, friends would never let me hear the end of it if I got one, haha.)
And I need an ubah PC anyways. ![]() |

Re: Which platform would you play Vanguard on?
Consoles are not for MMO's imo, i think you can do it maybe with the 360 or the ps3 MAYBE...but that all entails how much of a graphic difference will take place. I mean PC's upgrade all the time and consoles do not change every other day..so i think consoles are more limited as to what they would be able to offer a player that can get more on a PC.

Re: Which platform would you play Vanguard on?
The major limitations of consoles for MMOs are disk space and RAM. 20 GB HD on the 360 and ghetto PS3, 40 GB for the $600 model. I think both have 512 MB of system RAM. An MMO made for these consoles would be fine because they work within those limitations from the begining.
Porting a made-for-PC MMO over wouldn't work in many cases. Vanguard wants a whole GB of RAM and 20+ GB of disk space. You can stream certain things from the PS3's Bluray it makes patches and expansions more tricky. I hear Funcom fully intends to port Conan to the 360 which seems like it will work out fine due to zones plus having only 3 races, all of which are really all just humans.
