Which platform would you play Vanguard on?

My wife and I plan to play on PCs which I will build a month or so before the official release. While I am sure they can give the 3rd generation consoles the ability to play MMORPGs such as Vanguard, I don't see the real feasability to it.

I also hope to play Vanguard on a 50 inch DLP monitor and run it through my home theater system, well at least for really big raids. Otherwise, the wife and I have 19 inch monitors we will use.

Well, PC for me. Consoles are not for mmo's, in my oppinion. Throwing Vanguard at x-box would just be a waste of materials and time, focus on putting effort into the PC.
Consoles also role out every other year, so I feel there is no real reason to play consoles...

All I have to say is "No - there are absolutely no plans for vanguard to be released on Xbox360." That's not to say that we wouldn't consider an adaptation to the 360 at some point after release - but there is no work going on to that end at this point.

I actually believe Taranis that Vanguard will never be launched as a X-box title and yet still believe it will be on X-box. I did some searches on Taranis and his posts regarding the X-box and I noticed that several of his posts on this matter are slightly different each time. At one time he actually posted that Vanguard will never be launched on X-box ever at any time in the future.

The problem I seem to think is that people is thinking in terms of a separate launch for the X-box as in Pc version launch then a X-box version launch. If the NXA coding is what I think it is, it is coding that would make the game both compatible to a Pc and the X-box console and thus it is not necessary to do a X-box title launch for Vanguard.

To clarify my statement on believing Taranis saying Vanguard will never be launched on X-box at any time as one of his post said and yet still expect to see Vanguard on the console, I mean that Vanguard will be launched as a Pc game and if you would check the compatible OS systems and the minimum system requirements of the game on the side of the game package, you may see “NXA compatible” in the list. The point above is that the game will be launched as a Pc version only and if you try to put it onto a X-box 360, it would actually work despite the game not being a X-box title/version.

I also know that Microsoft cut off from Mythica because Microsoft will no longer support single platform mmo’s, so the only way for Sigil to get into bed with Microsoft is to agreed on supporting more than one platform.

One more thing I need to say is that when Taranius puts in a post regarding the X-box 360, he says “X-box title’ “won’t be at X-box launch” “X-box version”. That gets me thinking that you cannot expect to find Vanguard in the console or X-box category and will need to head over to the Pc category to pick it up when buying it for your X-box 360.

Whether Vanguard ever appears on XBox will be a marketing decision, I am sure there are not technical barriers. My impression is that consoles attract a younger generation than PC's and Vanguard does not seem a natural match. Research has shown that WOW has a far more adult client base than expected or I imagined based of the standards of game play.

I suspect Vanguards Client base will have a average age in the mid twenties.

I voted PC because we know for certain that "Vanguard: Saga of Heroes" wont be released within 12 months of the PC release. That said I do know this poll is quite old and if the game was going to be released on a console I probabally would play on console as it would likely be cheaper to buy a new gaming console than upgrading my computer or buying a new one. A gaming console I will probabally be buying anyway. Of course since it wont be I can't so I will have to play on PC like all of the others.

I voted for both pc and console.

I would prefer to use the X-box 360 console for the comfort of the living room. Whatever it comes out onto X-box 360 is up to marketing as Greymain mentioned.

Marketing is known to make changes in their plans so I wouldn’t go as far as to say I actually know it wont be 360 ready at launch.

Korinth mentioned the XNA coding in his post which is pretty much what I thought it was, so it would be a bit odd to do 2 separate launches while they could have just made one single launch which would work on both platforms.

yes I agree that even if they have no plans currently that does not mean that it's not impossiable plus you could look at in the line as feild research just getting an idea if people would play it on the 360 if enought people are interested that might mean that they would be williung to at least look into the idea of porting it over to the 360 right now why not look into it console gamers are a very big audence and that means the chance for more subsribers the 360 is planned for an mmo all it's own they got the rights to have marvel super hearoes just for it so yes it is seeming that there are more and more console gamers interested in mmo's
