More on Gold Sellers!

In line with the comments about gold sellers yesterday, Keth was reading Moorgard.com and found an interesting link to an article that has everything to do with this!

Remember the law suit against IGE? Well, TheEscapistMagazine.com was able to interview the attorney, Richard Newsome, for those filing the class action suit! It is a "...consumer class action for unfair trade practices." Sound enticing? I certainly thought so, and wondered why it hadn't happened before or why all of the game companies affected by this problem aren't jumping in and helping! Mr. Newsome mentioned, in regards to this:

That's a very good question. I think the consumer law firms are simply unaware of the problem. And I think, with respect to the industry, there are pros and cons of filing a lawsuit when your business model could be affected by the outcome, and the uncertainty of that is causing them pause.

I'm not sure I buy into the "unaware" idea, tho!! Not with all the press that has been out there about this. And if you live for a good fight that pays well, it seems some law firm could have started long ago! But then, that's me. Plus, in the article, he even talks about the possibility of getting paid to fight this!

Good stuff, and I think will be worth watching. (pssst....SoE.......!!)

I forgot to mention that GM Moonlite has, again, addressed the population regarding their work on this. Here is a partial:

You don't need to worry too much about the /report right now, just petition the name and we can take it from there. With regards to the number of petitions you can have open it is likely to always remain as one but, you can always edit the petition and add any pertinent information that you might have missed, or more names if and when they arise!

Over the transition period we were not operating on a 24/7 GM coverage and we were catching up on petitions that were a few days old. Now that training is over, and we now have a full staff we should move to full support at the beginning of next week, though presently we are answering petitions within a few hours, and this helps with the one petition issue also as we are answering and closing them quickly for you.

I know this is a touchy issue for many of you, and is the reason I wanted to post, but since we adopted a newer system of dealing with this on Monday you should have seen a big difference. We still have some ways to go, but at the moment we are making strides on the gold seller front!

VanguardRadio is turning a page in their short history and becoming UberguildsRadio as of this coming Saturday! QforQ has published a statement outlining the new direction at the old site. The new link is there, as well!

And, with a bit of sadness, I again mention that Vanguard Fighters will be closing this Friday, June 8th. Pirotess is in the process of bringing all the months of information that Lightning and crew have collected so it's not lost. Spheres will be hosting it for them and the community so you will still be able to access it.

We wish them the very best in whatever they chose to do next!

With the closing of a door, other windows are opening this weekend. Let's all work together to make the very best of these beginnings as we watch for more developments to be announced from SoE regarding Vanguard.
