No Action Against Gold Sellers??

Think nothing is happening to gold sellers in our world of Telon?? Think again!

Over the past few days, I've been reading some really rasty posts from people who think they know more than the average player about what's happening in the gold market. Believe me when I say this just about curls my toes, because I know that SoE has a policy of "shhhhhhhhhh" when things happen, and because I know that Head GM Moonlite has no tolerance for that market, and neither does our (now) Lead GM Aughos! Which leads me to this notice posted in the VGPlayers news today:

We have received many reports spam by Gold sellers in the game.The Vanguard team wants to make it perfectly clear that we do not support the sale of in game currency or items and any transactions with these companies are not sanctioned.

The developers are constantly working to identify and effectively counter the activities of these Gold sellers in our game, and strongly encourage all players to file a '/petition' each and every time you are made subject to messaging from these people. You can also use the '/report' command to capture in-game text examples of this messaging sent to your characters.

With your understanding and assistance we are able to identify and remove these people from the game. The CS team is working hard to handle your petitions and reports on this issue as quickly as possible, and partnering with the Dev team in finding ways to permanently counter the tactics of the Gold sellers.

I posted on another thread about this exact thing, but I don't think many of you saw it so best I post here too!

SOE has a policy that we will not discuss action taken against an account unless you are the account owner. Hence why SOE will not broadcast what accounts we did or did not ban. If you have a rule, that rule needs to be applicable to all. For as many people who want to hear the broadcasts, there are as many if not more who then spam our petition queue with "stop spamming us!" SMILEY In addition, we want to be sure we answer your petitions in a timely manner and it makes it more difficult to do that if we are constantly broadcasting to the servers. It's 10:30am and so far I think we have taken care of over 100 accounts this morning.

We have several systems in place to catch and take care of gold sellers, I obviously can't go into too much detail here because then the gold sellers would know all our secrets, but I do want you to be assured that this is as frustrating for us as it is for you, and we are working relentlessly to make things as difficult as possible for these people.

So, my friends...there ya go! Right from the top of the GM ladder! In which I say to those who think nothing is happening, "Get over it!"

Moving on:

Meet Thom Terrazas, aka PhAtHoM. He's a semi-newb to the game, but seems ready to take the bull by the horn! And I know...a lot of you are asking, "WHY Paladin!?" Oh well! Just can't account for taste, but then, in many games, pallys are more than cool! Remember the gallant knights in EQ zipping around and all the ladies swooned?

Test addicts - if you haven't figured it out, there is some form of "double exp" there! That, and the Brotherhood is needing more testers, so head on over and help them out!

Watch for some changes we'll be letting you know about later this week with Vanguard Fighters. Some of the details are being worked on now.
