Wow I didn't see that comming. I been off online for like the last 4 or 5 days because good ole "Final Fantasy III(VI)" was calling my name and I have been spending pretty much all of my free time over the last few days playing through that game again and I had no idea of what was happening forum wise over the last few days let alone know what has been happening Vanguard wise. I didn't know that they started beta 2 until I saw this thread. That said I still think it's a bit pre-mature to say that release will be in Q2 2006. While it is a possibility it is not a given also with beta 2 just begining and the longest phase, 3, still ahead I still believe that a Q3 release is more likely.

You may be right but Beta 2 has been shorter than I expected which should mean that the game is proving to be quite solid. Don't forget Vanguard uses a proven engine albeit much modified. My guess would be that what features is or is not included in the release version will dictate release date rather than bugs. I will compromise and guess September for release just right for marketing build up for Christmas.

Sept of NEXT year? I don't think MicroSoft will allow them to hold out that long, personally. They aren't known for patience!

Well September is only 9 months off and with 3 more phases still to come it is quite a possibility. Remember Sigil is saying sometime in 2006 nothing more specific than that. Also Microsoft will give Brad until the September if he truely needs it. Remember Brad McQuaid is the video game industry equivalent of a Hollywood star big companies like Microsoft would do alot to keep him under their banner than risk losing them. Considering this game has been in production for about 4 years now I really don't a few more months is really going to be asking too much from Microsoft.

I'm with Arctic_Slicer on this one. I can very much see a September or even Q4 release. It makes more marketing sense than releasing it at any other time. Personally I think the they would have missed their mark on starting the marketing drive on time if they planned a Q2 release.

I totally agree it SHOULD be that late! But, we'll see what happens. I'd definately listen to Brad on this one, if I were them!

No matter when they release I would want a game that relitively bug free. So whether it 2q,3q or 4q I believe Brad will release Vanguard in soild form.
Also as was stated they are using a proven game engine which does make it alot easier.:confused:
