Don't forget the time change!

clocks

Don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour tonite! If it's 2 a.m. where you are in the states, it's really 3!

People all over the US and Canada are wondering how this is going to work out, but, thanks to some *choke*wonderful*gag* idea someone had to "save" money in the future, there are a lot of computer folks biting their nails tonite! You can thank the US Energy Policy Act of 2005 for this one!

If you have those "pre-programmed" clocks (not radio signal), toss them out with the bath water. They're obsolete as of tonite! Hopefully, the radio signal ones will pick up the right information! (You-know-what will break loose if that one messes up!)

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how many man hours and dollars have gone into companies trying to get ready for this? And, if you've read the article that says MicroSoft didn't get many calls about it...don't believe it! One person around here spent 5 hours on the phone (on premium response contract) trying to get thru, and that's just a start! But, it will all work out eventually.

If you have problems at work Monday, just put a bag over your head that says, "HELP ME! DST HATES MY COMPUTER" and sit there. Some poor IM person is already getting the worst end of this one, I'm sure. If it would make you feel better, write your congressman. They had part in this, too! But, if you're interested in reading something, try this article. It has a bit of the good, the bad and the ugly.

Actually, I'm hoping this goes without a hitch!

In other news, more pertinent to our world of Telon, Mikael let us know about another podcast he did. I'm a couple days late, but we've been a bit busy trying to work out some things, so...forgive! TelonCast Episode 8 is now available and it contains an interview with the first character to reach 50 in the post-launch game!

They will also cover the news, including content update #1, double exp weekend, the Test Server and more and talk about missives, weaknesses, more user voicemails and a contest is announced!

RSS Here: http://teloncast.libsyn.com/rss

Direct Download Here: http://media.libsyn.com/media/telonc...loncast008.mp3

So, for those enjoying the bonus weekend, have fun. For those, like me, who wait it out, I'll see ya when it's over!

Or for a real treat, set them ahead an hour.

Re: Don't forget the time change!

Actually this occured during WWII and I believe the purpose was the same then.

It's Nothing new and in the 70's they tried to remove it. Many things occured when this happened such as: Still dark when kids went to school. Some bus drivers didn't see the kids at the stops and left them there. So they put it back.

Personally, I wish they would just leave it alone. It really doesn't save anything in the long term.

Re: Don't forget the time change!

Yup. They're just trying to adjust those few seconds each 6 months, and like you said, who really cares? Just ppl with too much time and grant money on their hands!

Anyway...I made it to church on time, so...so far, so good!

Good luck, everyone!

PS....make sure your computers are set to the right time! The MS patches were suppose to be applied in their updates, but if someone missed, you can find them over there.
