Let there be Vanguard...and Guilds!

Well we've had some record numbers this week but nothing beats the 400+ concurrent forum users we hit today as people waited for the servers to come up. We had some high CPU loads for a little while about an hour ago but I found some hung backup processes, terminated them and things are performing nicely again. We've had hundreds of new registations this week and are about to go over the 4,000 user mark. All in all its been a great week here at Vanguard Spheres!

Now that the game has pre-released we're ready to start releasing our databases. The first database out the door is our Guild Database. Our intention with it is to allow guild leaders to contribute their guilds to the database so forum members can quickly and easily search for a guild that best fits their play style and preferred timezone. Over the next few days we'll expand the search functionality to include searching by guild type among other criteria. Right now however, we'd love to see all the guild leaders who have participated in our Guild Hall forums jump in and add their guilds to the guild database so we can work any remaining bugs out of the system before final release.

Later on the guild database will allow guild leaders to invite Vanguard Spheres users right from the forums into their guild. They will be able to see pending, accepted and declined invitations as well as manage a roster of their members on the fly. We'll also be adding a Guild Spotlight function to the database that will pick a new guild each day to highlight to the rest of the forums and we'll link together the Guild DB and the Guildhall discussion threads to allow more personalized discussion about the guilds of Vanguard right in their very own threads. More on these features later!

Woot \o/ as they say. 400 and 4000 in total, very good numbers to hit. The Guild stuff sounds very cool, keep up the good work.
