SUBJECT: Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Open Beta to Close Jan. 23

Sony Online Entertainment and Sigil Games Online announced today that the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes open beta will close on January 23 at 11:59 p.m. PST. In anticipation of the January 30th launch of the fantasy-themed MMORPG, the servers will be shut down, and all beta character profiles will be transferred to a test server. The test server will open after launch with timing to be determined. For those who have pre-ordered Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, early access will be granted to the live servers before the official release date. More information regarding the early access will be released shortly.

Players can now pre-order Vanguard: Saga of Heroes digitally and at retail. Additionally, gamers that pre-order retail versions will receive an exclusive endurance buff scroll that will allow their character to sprint for longer periods of time (one per account).

I really hope VG doesn't fail do to the foul words of the few. A large number of people are bashing VG, because they feel it still needs work. Well, they will have seven days to work on optimization and fix a few bugs, then get the burners churning. Either way, I am going to be with VG through the good times and the bad.

Guess I wouldn't classify the whiny ramblings of the vocal naysayers as a majority. Remember, empty cans clatter the loudest. I think it does need more work, but they have 4 days with us testers, then I'm sure there are a lot of fixes that are in the works that just need to be finalized and the bugs worked out and simply need to be implemented. I'm sure its not going to hit the streets perfect, they never do. But, I think things should be ok.

Servers just came down. No ETA! But the event was good, and I heard we had about 6k on the server. I only crashed once, and there was about 600 in Leth! Not bad, really.

Of course, I got my grif by sheer determination, and then my graphics messed up so I couldn't equip him!

Good news, tho, is that they said the Grif masters would be up again...we'll see!

Ok, forgive me if this sounds completely stupid, but I'm a bit confused.

Open Beta ends on the 23rd. VG goes Live on the 30th, Pre-orders get a head start on the 27th, the way I understand it.

So my question is, if open Beta ends one the 23rd, Will we be unable to log in at all until the 27th? Not exactly clear on how this works.

No you won't be able to log in until the 27th. The time between the servers going down on the 23rd and coming back up for early entry on the 27th will be a time for them to get the live servers ready to umm... go live

Ir says that all beta alts will be transferd to a test server does that mean you gusy get to keep your alts when the real game starts since they are saving them for you if so that would be cool?
