Very special interview!
There are things we do that we consider "benchmarks" in our lives. Special occasions and people. Stepping stones to the next level and the measurment of distance to get there. Or, maybe just something we need to do that is special to us. However you might view it, we all have those times. The box art of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes has caught my attention from the first time I saw it. I knew the history and I watched it grow. We (the staff of VS) were in California visiting Sigil the day Keith Parkinson passed away. It's something that hit the four of us pretty hard when we found out the following Friday! Silly? Maybe, but it was a mark in history, and we all felt it. I wondered about the artwork that hadn't been finished, including the box, so when I could tear myself away from scrutinizing it, I asked a dear friend who the artist was that had completed it. She told me, "Donato." It took me a bit to find the link, but I did and I looked at his work. And then I wrote Glip and asked for an interview, not fully understanding that Donato wasn't working with Sigil still. But, permission was granted. I am pleased to bring you that interview, and with it being rather special, I did it a bit different than we've done in the past. I hope that it does the occasion justice, and as you read, please imagine yourself as part of the audience. A little role play is always good! And now, May I introduce, Donato! One more piece of information you might like: This is the last year for the Keith Parkinson calendar! Donna Parkinson has kept the site open for the fans, and is offering this thru the store there. If you are interested (and I have mine already. It's wonderful!), please order it here! You won't be disappointed! Thank you for the entries to the contests and the kind remarks some have added. We'll do our best to continue keeping VS a Sigil-approved site that you want to visit! Until next time...
