Name that Creature!!

Working with Sigil to get more folks into beta, we are pleased to announce a joint contest with the other Affiliates! The rules are simple...finding the beast was, I'm sure, not! As they said,

Jeric and his adventuring party have just returned from an expedition deep into the wilds of Telon and have brought back with them many previously undiscovered specimens. Among them was a mid-sized, gangly, sharp-toothed demonoid beast. Help decide what to call this unnamed creature and win some cool prizes in the process!

It's a horrid looking thing with fangs and claws, and...well, you can view it and the contest rules right here! However, in order for you to get your entry in, I need you all to e-mail me at aredhel.vanguard@gmail.com (include your forum name) by midnight, Nov. 20th, 2006 (and yes, it says it again in the rules, but just making sure!). I'll post the names on the 21st, and voting will be done by simple post ballot...just type the name you like...and we will submit the winning entry to Sigil on Nov. 27th. Good luck!

Well, without access to the creature itself it is a little tricky to identify this beast. At first sight it clearly resembles a Gargoloid or Imp of sorts.

The Quekol, or 'Pool Divers' are an Imp species that make their homes among the craggy waterfalls of Kojan. It is said that dryads managed to to domesticate some of these creatures but somewhere along the way, something terrible happened which caused the birth of the first Harpy.

However, this is merely a fanciful bed-time story told to young Kojan children to keep them from entering the forests alone and was never substantiated.

Equally, I suppose, it could be a 'Covenant Messenger', in which case I might urge Jeric to take more care to what he brings aboard his ships. Who knows what that dark order have planned?!

All in all, given Jeric's amature status as a zoologist my instinct leads me to speculate that whether Gargoyle or Imp it is certainly not a particularly dangerous example of his species and I am surprised that Jeric, who clearly believes he has discovered this beast, has not trod the paths of other great naturalists and named the winged creature for himself.

If it were I who had discovered and identified this as a new species, I think would name it Miyzargon

So we have to come up with an original name for an unoriginal creature. I have nothing against the naming of it but why not give us something that wasn't some generic demonoid imp?

If I think of anything original that isn't a random hodgepoge of sounds I will email it but it's still a pretty boring creature to name.
