New style launched!

Some of you may have noticed a "couple" of changes to the sites look this morning. The changes you see now are considered phase 1 of our style upgrade. Phase 2 will consist of reworking the sites icons to fit with our new theme a little better. This amazing transformation can entirely be attributed to the tireless and extremely skilled work done by our very own staff member and graphic artist Lycrist over the past week.

I hope our readers enjoy the new look of the site and we'd love to hear your thoughts and feelings about it in our feedback forums. If you havent already registered with the site, take a few moments to do so. Now that we have a stable foundation to build the site off of, new features will be coming soon!

Since our launch, I have always felt our site needed a more polished look but at the same time I wanted to keep the scroll theme intact. Lycrist has succeeded in meeting both of these goals as well as making the site load faster at the same time. Truly a win win situation all around! Furthermore Lycrist was also able to create a new logo for the site working from concept art by Cobalt Katze. The wax seal graphic above is the result of that collaboration. Each of the three intersecting circles in the center of the seal represents one of the three major spheres of Vanguard. (Adventuring, Crafting, Diplomacy). The ring encompassing those spheres represents Vanguard:Saga of Heros as a whole and the very outter ring represents this site which seeks to cover everything Vanguard related.

Oddly enough I still get that funny scrolling slowdown on this crappy work computer. Good job though, Lyr. It looks a lot better than it did before.

Hrmm thats a bummer. I did alot of cleanup on the CSS files for the site and they are now hosted as files so they get cached to your machine instead of slapped into the header of every page. You are running the latest version of Firefox right? Or is it slowing down in internet explorer?

Yeah, latest version of Firefox. It's such a strange problem. I really don't know. It doesn't matter too much... works fine for me at home on my better computer.

Thank you,i am likeing this site alot,wonderful job on it,that being said i will probley be here more then other site as it has gotten very crowed over there,gonna have to forgive me at times i work nights and well most times i am 1/2 asleep at the keyboard so in some posts i usualy have typos but as i see there really is no need for that here as you guys have a spell checknot to mention i am a horrible typer in the way that i am not very creative,i am more of a talker face to face kinda person,am looking forward to future chats with you all in the chat,i am a chat freak somtimes when approched with an intresting topic.

We do? Actually we have the capability to install a spell checker and I was thinking about doing so but I wasnt sure how many people would actually use it. I think maybe we'll run a poll to see what people think.
