This afternoon marks the beginning of a new stage of promotion for Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Honoring their partnership in publishing with Sony Online Entertainment, the two MMO powerhouses have collaborated on a new flash website designed to attract new potential gamers and pull them into the hype.

Several highlights include:

- Overview, featuring the full box art for the game and many text descriptions of key features to the game!
- World, a description of the three main landmasses in Telon including screenshots and a flyby video. Currently only Thestra has these additional bits of media, but the rest will be coming shortly!
- Heroes, lore backgrounds for Telon's three iconic characters designed by the late Keith Parkinson.
- Travel, descriptions and videos of the three main forms of travel in Thestra: Land travel, Air travel, and Water travel. Currently the only video up is for Horses.
- Media, filled with the latest screenshots, videos, wallpapers, and music. The last item on the list should be paid particular attention to as well! Not only has Todd Masten released many brand new pieces from the game, but has gone back and totally remixed and produced special extended versions of those already released! They now seem to feature not only ambient aspects of the areas, but combat layers as well! Definately check them out.

Stay tuned for more developments as areas of the new website gradually become unlocked!

Edit: We also have two other little bits of news! It seems that Sigil has been sending out a new feature of screenshots to various Affiliate websites. So far, there are three featuring what is being called "Creatures of Thestra"!

Vanguard Esp has up the Undead Warrior, Soul Slasher, and Tharridon the Mighty.

Vanguard Crafters has the Kaon Fairy, Salamander, and Undead Mage.

Silky Venom has the Gargoyle, Gorgalok, and Cartheon Knight.

The music has to be the best part of the site! Along with how excellent of a job SOE does at creating a unique and fun website. Should be interesting to watch grow!

Can anyone help me please, I found a thread that mentioned that you could reserve a toon name? Is this true or false and if true can a link to that place be given? Please.

Unless something has developed in the last few days that I am unaware of I dont believe that is a true statement.

Brad did kick this area around, but it has been a long time (he talked about it at the time same time as when he talked about mandatory last names - and entire game, not just server, unique names). Last I heard, they dropped the idea.

Doesn't mean they won't allow us to register name/create characters in advance, but I'm sure that won't happen until near launch.

Thank you for the info. As much as I would love to see Vsoh now, I am glad it is gonna be a little longer. It will give me time to build a new machine for the game play.
