Just when we thought the draught was going to kill us, Aradune comes swinging through the OVFs and saves us. Yesterday brought a ton of new information on topics ranging from archetypes to player controlled vendors. My only complaint is the feast or famine we've been getting lately. Hey Brad can you spread it out over the week a bit? My fingers are killing me from todays Forum Debrief!

Here's what Brad had to say about why he was posting so much last night which gave us an inkling of one of the sorcerer's roles:

Anyway, cut the evening a little short, but gives me the opportunity to do some posting. And don't worry, we are organizing a CR for tomorrow night, after which we will attempt to get deeper than ever into the dungeon.

Brad went on to explain that feign death as we know it is unlikely to appear in Vanguard.

I'm all for the original idea, but if something like it does appear in Vanguard, you can be sure that we will do everything we can such that the mechanics allow it to be used as per its intent and not turn into an exploit. No, I have nothing against emergent behaivor in general in these games -- in fact, that's one of the coolest aspects of these games. I do have a problem when something turns out to be so powerful in an unplanned way that it starts affecting the balance of the game in a measurable way. Feel free to look up posts by me re: kiting for more elaboration.
