Very quiet morning today in the Vanguard news universe. Seems like everyone is holding their breath or something. Lee Harker, Assistant Art Director at Sigil Games Online did have this to say about one fans concern of Vanguard graphics appearing subpar and anothers that traveling around Telon would be very linear.

If you can see it, you can run to it.
As to some of the other concerns, Our outdoor lighting model is still in development. You are -not- seeing the final product. More naturally colored outdoor light, contrast between lights and darks, and a brighter and more colorful world are part of that.
Telon is just plain immense, and our priority is filling up all that space with content right now. We all want to get the eye candy stuff in..but the gameplay needs to come first for the graphics to have any real meaning.

This makes me feel a bit better as I have definitely noticed that the
earlier Vanguard screenshots look very different from the new
beta 0 screenshots.
