Vanguard Spheres Acceptable Use Policy

The Staff of Vanguard Spheres expects that guests will act in accordance with the same principals laid out by Sigil on their forums. As an affiliated site, we are an extension of Sigils forums and expected to police our forums in the same manner Sigil polices their own. Generally we expect forum users to RESPECT each other and not participate in any of the behaviors noted below which are restricted on the official Vanguard forums.

• No profanity (meaning, if you even THINK it might be profanity, don't use it!)
• No lewd or sexually suggestive comments
• No flaming (making personal attacks against another forum member)
• No trolling (intentionally posting inflamatory remarks to get a rise)
• No publishing of personal contact information
• No “bumping,” “spamming” or “cross-posting” (repeated posts)
• No advertising is allowed unless approved in advance (we do our own, thanks!)
• No ASCII character images in signatures.
• Please keep posts appropriate to the topic.
• Please do not post links to pornographic or inappropriate sites
• Please keep signature quotes to a reasonable length (300 characters)

While we welcome open discussion, no “flaming” of any company, game or individual will be tolerated. Ideas and thoughts are welcome. Insults and disparaging remarks will not be tolerated. We want to keep these forums limited to discussing concepts and ideas. For example, discussion of the pros and cons of “camping” is perfectly acceptable. Berating companies and games for their camping issues is not.

If you see a post that appears to violate these rules, please click the "Report Bad Post" icon at the bottom left of the post to draw it to a moderators attention. DO NOT take matters into your own hands and/or tell the other user how they have violated the rules. If we cant see the violation, we cant uphold the rules and take appropriate action. If you have any questions or comments regarding the content or moderation of the forums, please contact Pirotess or any other Staff member by PM or e-mail.

Actions against violators of these guidelines:

• Glipping (posts will be edited/deleted by a moderator to remove inappropriate content)
• Moving (posts off topic will be moved to a more suitable forum for their topic)
• Warnings (email sent to repeat offenders)
• Restrictions (suspensions from areas of the board where violations are taking place)
• Banning (complete loss of Community membership privileges)

Moderators have been instructed to warn users the first time foul language is used in a post or personal insults at another user are thrown. The user will know they have been warned when they receive a private message from a Vanguard Spheres staff member detailing the post that was inappropriate and their post is editted by a staff member.

If a second infraction occurs it will result in a 3 day ban. If the user persists in using foul language and personal insults after the 3 day ban, they will be permanently banned by me and I love banning troublemakers.

Spam advertising and remarks that are considered racist or intolerant to any sexual orientations will be immediately banned forever. I probably wont even blink as I do it. We have a zero tolerance policy on all three actions as they are highly destructive to our community.

In short don't make us reprimand you, we'll win, trust us on that one.
