Guild Feedback/Questions
I have a question about a guild function... I'm new to the guild system in Vanguaard so when I saw the points section in the guild window, I had no idea what it was for. Do any of you know what the points column/section is for?
Secondly, the guild system/tools in EQ2 is a good one imo. The guild tools in Vanguard reminds me too much of the ones in WoW. It needs improving imo. so I thought I would throw some suggestions out there, in the hope that Brad & Co will see it, and hopefully do something about it. I reckon guilds are even more important in Vanguard because it's a group-orientated game. So Vanguard deserves better guild tools. I'd like to be able to change/add/remove/re-order ranks within the guild. There should be a guild bank. Buying a house and using chests etc might be one way but really I feel we could use a proper guild bank with adjustable guild permissions for each rank. Maybe add this to the current banking system in Vanguard, or think of a different way to implement it. At the moment, it looks as though I have to go and buy a house and put chests in it to have some sort of a guild bank. Not very practical since housing plots are limited, and I think every guild should have the option to have their own guild bank without having to buy a house. Just woke up so I can't think of anything else for the time being but I'm sure I'll come up with other ideas later on when I've tinkered around a bit. ![]() |

I came from EQ2 and I have been thrown into a virtual dark age as far as guild controls from my perspective. 1. The hierarchy is basically nill. You can't really set up a promotion schedule of any sort as aside from officer and leader there are only 3 levels and no one wants to be the initiate so that leaves 2 for anyone that puts in say 2 weeks. 2. No guild bank, I have come to the conclusion this is not such a bad thing although it is a bit annoying now. What I have seen is much more sharing between guild members in chat that I had not witnessed in EQ2. Don't get me wrong people were really generous in EQ2 but they put things in the bank as it was probably the best way to handle it for that game, prevented alot of beggers in guild chat etc. What is also nice about no bank is I don't have to worry about cleaning the bank out and that was a pain in the *bleep* chore in EQ2 as someone was always putting in some stupid tooth that no one can use but to sell for a few silvers and then I had to go mail stuff to people who could use it. What we have done to get around not having a bank until we get houses is to have a guild mule. Of course that means someone has to give up one of their precious 8 slots to have some dude that stands by mailboxes and brokers and bankers in his spare time but I took that one on as I would only make a mess of anything above 4 toons. ![]() 3. The point system. Well in raiding guilds I would bet they will use this to track points. Right now only officers and leaders can enter points. My guild is a casual guild that will be using raid points for the once weekly raid however we won't be using the points window for this. Instead we are coming up with a unique way to give points to members who have been good guildies. You can't promote people so you have to find something. 4. You cant tell when someone joins or leaves. There is no log page that shows any sort of guild accomplishments like discoveries etc. I loved going into my EQ2 guild and opening up the guild page to see what people did while I was at work or sleeping. I would also be able to see when we lose a member so I can follow up and find out why they left and get feedback on the guild as a whole from them. 5. Guilds are still uber bugged. I constantly have people not being recognized when I go to invite them and others that lose tags, and others that lose the guild entirely etc. 6. Guilds, aside from raiding guilds, don't have any special goals. Yeah we can gather together, buy and build houses etc. but there are not special things like the status system from EQ2 that bound the guild together in trying to level the guild and get special guild rewards. I would love to see something similar in this game.

Sure, there are some disadvantages to having a guild bank, and of course I think it would be a decent challenge for Sigil to do something here to minimise the disadvantages somehow. I just feel that there are greater benefits to having an expandable guild bank with a permission system. Yes, I keep suffering with that bug. Waiting for Sigil to hurry up and fix it.Yes I think maybe something guild related would be good... I always enjoyed handing in status items and doing quests that gave status in EQ2 that contributed to the guild level. But I think Sigil need to come up with something a bit different here. The rest of what you said, I pretty much agree. |

Re: Guild Feedback/Questions
We created our old guild for the sake of fun more than anything else, but I found we could not invite our alts in different areas. Says "player not found"
Is that a bug or is it due to not being in the same chunk (as it used to be required in EQ) or ?

Re: Guild Feedback/Questions
I've thought some more about improvements to the guild system in Vanguard and have come up with these:
Basically I find it a PITA to recruit with no tools geared for recruitment. I can't spam the channels advertising my guild as that would annoy people. So I thought, why not have a tool where you can advertise your guild, like on a bulletin board in-game (kind of like the one they have in EQ1 but improve on it). You would be able to give the name off your guild, say what kind of guild it is (casual/hardcore/role play/etc), what races/classes/levels the guild needs, and say what other preferences/requirements your guild has. On the flip side, if you are looking for a guild, you can advertise that, and say what you are looking for etc as well as giving the details such as your level/race/class/etc. And then have a dedicated guild channel where people can spam to their hearts content. Only guild recruiters and people who are looking to join guilds would see this channel, as it can be turned on/off at will, just like most other channels. Thiss could be used in addition to other recruiting methods. |

Re: Guild Feedback/Questions
I didn't try relogging the inviter - only the invitee
will try that.I didn't bug it because I never read up on guilds and didn't want to /bug a design decision (in old EQ you had to be in the same zone also) Lastly - are you sure about the last "petitiion" part? AFAIK, the Crimson Fellowship cannot do any 'game bug' stuff - just summon-related issues. Plus we are always told not to report bugs in petitions. NOW... if there is something they do to fix that bug or summon you or something - that's great! - let me know please.
