Re: Multiple guilds?

I like the idea of the NPC guild for newbies. Would provide a much better mechanic for people to ask questions about how things work early on without resorting to spamming multiple broadcast channels.

I dont mind them being called guilds but certain groupings could be called other things like fellowships (friend guild), apprenticeships (craft guilds), etc.

Re: Multiple guilds?

Its just that there are lots of other terms which would do the job like Clan, Gang, Tribe and of course fellowship.

Re: Multiple guilds?

I think that any good guild out there will have an officer that will do a raid of some sorts for the mining, crafting, diplomacy part for a guild I would think u could do all this with just your guild. all u would have to do is put people in charge of the diff things to make this work. Think cobalt put it pretty clear what happens when people are in multiple guilds and this does happen a lot.

I think there are a few things to be considered with such an idea. In FFXI, players could belong to multiple "guilds" called Linkshells. Instead of guilds in the traditional sense, they were something like chatrooms you could switch in and out of... However, to function as a guild was severely hindered by it. One could belong to multiple LSs without the others knowing and have a lot of potential backstabbing or covert information getting. On the plus side, one could socialize with a larger group of players... But I personally think the minuses far outweigh the plusses.

A GUILD is a family and the family works together to acomplish every thing the family needs to support the family!!

Just my 2 cents

Re: Multiple guilds?

From other posts of his, Aradune mentions Guilds, Caravans, and Fellowships as "social constructs". That may be what became of "multiple guilds". Perhaps they have chat channels and member lists.

Well maybe folks will belong to a guild, several associations, and a family?
I really like this idea! Guilds for raiding, associations for tradeskills and family for socializing.
