Hi! I'm a long time gamer and as a side "job?" I also write reviews for www.twitchy.co.uk. Recently I had the pleasure of writing the review for Vanguard: SoH.

I think it's a fair review, actually. All the griping done by many people seems to be out of frustration that they can't do something in particular, rather than moving on to something else.

I've hardly run into any bugs that stop me from doing anything. I did get one during a quest the other night, but I /bugged it and went on to something else. I logged out for a couple hours, and when I returned, I tried again and was happily surprised to find I could complete the quest!

Laggy? Yes, but not to incapacitation. My husband loves the diplo system and others rave about the crafting! I have a short attention span for detail, so I'm always running off in many directions at once. Maybe that's why I haven't run into any real horrible bugs.

Was it ready to release in final form? No, but Brad knew that. He also gave the reasons why they would have to go ahead before they wanted to. But, as so many have said, no MMO is "ready" or "finished" for release. They are, and always will be, a WIP (work in progress). The people talking about the "end game content" for VSoH now just make me laugh. There is no "end game"! Good grief, already...let's get thru the beginning of the game!

Closing Comments - Is it ready for release? No. Is it still a beta?
Most certainly. Is it worth paying monthly to play? Definitely. Despite its
problems: graphical, lag and game bugs this reviewer found it to be a very
enjoyable gaming experience and will almost certainly be subscribing for
months to come. Having played various MMORPG games both in beta and at
launch, Vanguard: SoH has its fair share of bugs and lag but no more than
any other games in the genre during their launch periods. Time and money
can only improve the sturdy game hiding beneath the at times irritating
bugs and this reviewer will be buying a new PC shortly in anticipation of
many happy hours in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.

Graphics: 8/10 - High powered engine cripples slower PC's, looks
nice on higher detail settings
Sound: 7/10 - Decent ambient sounds, non-intrusive music, good
sound effects
Gameplay: 8.5/10 - Lag issues aside, plays exceptionally well and
is great fun
Lifespan: 10/10 - A massive world to explore, different races,
classes, crafts, dungeons its all here
Overall: 8.5/10 - Buggy, laggy, with massive potential to be a
great MMORPG

Scoring System - Marks out of 10. 5 is Average. "Overall" is not an average
of Graphics, Sound, Gameplay & Lifespan.

AMD64 3700+, 2gb RAM, ATI X800XTPE
AMD Athlon 2500+, 1gb RAM, ATI X700PRO
