Shield of Hatred (lvl 48 Heroic Shield)
This quest line starts by a drop off named near Plains of Anguis (I got mine off the Mayor and saw another one drop of Captain Dreadan which is a named you spawn for another quest line). The drop is called Unmarked Shield.
Equip it and go fight with it till a quest pop up shows. It tells you to go visit an NPC, Teryn Valso (Undead village in Beranid, the quest hub). This NPC advance the quest and tells you to go to the fountain in village and state "Im evil Incarnate". Once done, the shield awakens and you get a quest telling you to go kill 100 Bortherhood. Quite long and a pain to do. It yelds an uncommon shield which isnt much to talk about. Right click the shield (long right click, else youll just equip it) to pop next quest. Quest tells you to temper the shield in the forge in Graystone. Forger is rather deep in part one. Looks like a pool of lava, center of a huge cavern and surrounded by mobs. Take a lava pool dive and quest updates yelding a rare shield which is better (Shield of Darkness: lvl 46, 243 AC, 14 str, 7 con, 20% to block Vs lvl 46 mobs). Go back to the Teryn Valso in Undead Village and he tells you that to fully awaken the shield, you need to kill a named in Old Targonor, Garzonag. This is the final step of the quest line and yelds an Heroic shield (Shield of Hatred, lvl 48, 24% block Vs lvl 48 mobs, 331 AC, 14str, 7 con, clickable effect: Evil Incarnate. I have yet to find a description of the effect). Edit: Changed legendary to Heroic since i was mistaken on label (Thought orange was legendary and red Heroic, my bad). Also added name of named mob for last step. |

Still trying to get the named from Old Targ atm, some brightspark forgot to give him a respawn timer and therefore he only reappears after server reset.
Nice write up, one thing to note. Seems the shield is Heroic, not Legendary. Common - green Uncommon - blue Rare - yellow Heroic - glowing orange Legendary - glowing red |

From next patch notes (I bolded the relevant part)
WORLD POPULATION NOTES - Afrit – Quartermaster Xalon now offers a rare cloak in exchange for searing stones once all of the other armor pieces he offers have been purchased. - Graystone - The summoned named encounters in Graystone have changed slightly. - Gorgalog Swamp – The unique vendor of the Ichtakhta, Flordiel, and Gorgalok has had scrolls added which teach players unique crafting recipes. These recipes play a major role in creating the improved armor pieces of the base quest rewards. - Khal – Raia has undergone a significant population and quest pass. - Old Targonor - Garzonag the Guardian should spawn much more often - Quests - Rebuilding The Weapon: Lord Neferset will now teleport your group in range, rather than you alone. - Quests - Starspark-related loot will now drop significantly more frequently. - Rahz Inkur – Searing stone drops within Rahz Inkur have been replaced with cards of fate. It should now be more rewarding to hunt within Rahz Inkur itself. - Sands of Sorrow - Magmites now drop more searing stones. - Thestra - Many NPCs in west of Thestra that were not correctly marked are now undead. Have at em, guys! - Xennumet - Drillzarax’s immunities have been updated to that of a Boss, which he is or claims to be. |

named in Rahz Inkur drops comparable shield without the questline need.
actually I think Rahz shield is better, it is 20% vs lvl 52 mobs. 1 % mit, 12 sta str and 80 or so hp. with 300 AC difference is that ppl required to get Rahz Inkur shield is higher. need to be higher level and know the zone, and it is a chance drop that likely more than 1 person will want. |

The truth is, that if you know what you are doing in Rahz, spawning this named is a piece of cake. However it is a chanced drop for one, and this is not guaranteed yours as in you gotta win it from clerics and / or other tanks in your group to get it, thats for two. Shield of Hatred on the other hand is a quest item, and it is guaranteed yours for the set amount of work, can't argue there. Do you know what the effect does? or maybe post a screenshot of the illusion it gives if any, and cooldowns and such? Thanks |

Not at home so cant get the screenshot done. From what i can tell, Evil Incarnate clicky is strictly a Skelly Illusion (looks nice and makes for nice comments in group).
Illusion seems to last about 2h or till next death and is on a 30 min recast (I dont understand the reacst time if its only an illusion). I have not been able to find any other gimmicks given by this ability (No change in stats, resists or anything) |
