General quest idea:
faction driven quest line, you start at dynamic rating of 0, actual rating of some other number, usually below 0, depending on your race's relationship to elves of Wardship, you can check your faction by using /showfaction command, and look for "Celestial Ward". Armor is made from a corresponding armor type drop, a book, a candle, and a catalyst. Catalyst is handed to you by an NPC at appropriate levels of faction, books are random static world spawns on 4 hour timer, candles are random drops by any mob in the area and in dungeons, and runes are dropped exclusively by named mobs in the area and dungeons. Each armor pieces carries an inscription "XXX YYY ZZZ", where XXX - name of the candle you need, YYY - name of the rune you need, ZZZ - name of the book spawn you need. Heroic quest item carries inscription that is 6, 3+3, same manner though. Armor set is split into 3 tiers of real faction, not dynamic faction - at 2-3k faction, at 5-6k faction, and at 8k faction to best of my knowledge. There is also heroic/legendary quest at 11950 or so faction, which is max pretty much. General Information: - unneeded runes can be turned in for faction - there is 5 names total in VolTuniel + 1 boss type mob at top of the throne room that is a very rare spawn in my experience so far havn't seen it. - i think there is 5 total named in Thelaseen as well. - I dont know how many named are on the outside of wardship - in order to turn in, you go to a glowing red orb surrounded by 3 golems at the north east corner of one of the larger islands of the swamp. 1 person can kite the golems while you right click the orb. BEWARE: it automatically makes item for you. Chances are, it will not make item you want and spend components you need for item you do want in the process. So be careful there. Ways to grind faction fast: - your best faction raisers are quests. - quest to kill 50 bloodhowlers leads onto kill 100, they give 250 and 500 faction and kill 100 is repeatable. When you get to tier2 faction, kill 100 starts giving 250 faction per turn in, but before that, they are easy mobs rewarding 1permob+5proratedquestreturns faction giving total 6 faction per kill. - you can AoE bloodhowlers as long as your tank can hold aggro. I am DRK and I was 34 when I started in 1 day of grinding i raised 5k faction. I would aoe my BlackWind and SoD a couple of times, than group would start AoEing. Reactive heals and SoD are key here to staying up. S&S setup also, dont do it with 2hander. - do not hand in any quests from the swamp area until you grinded out your bloodhowler quests, it is a waste of faction return ratios. - if your group is game for it, check out ruins spread out across the swamp. Sometimes there is a sword there, giving a decent faction amounts for picking it up - "paying homage to ruins" - killing named mobs rewards faction too. - regular mob kills deep in VT are 3 faction a hit, deep in Thelaseen 4 faction a hit. QUEST REWARDS: DRK - karrasis WAR - leauvien PAL - don't know. LEGS,BP,SHOUDLERS - heroic, tier 3 other peices - rare, tiers 1 and 2. Hope this helps getting you started guys, good luck to all of you. |

Here is a link to all the DRK pieces of the chain:
http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...s=& st=1&sv=0 And here is the link to the heroic/legendary reward for having max faction + doing a crazy assed hard quest of beating 10 nameds and finding 6 wosm components: http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...f-leth-varael/ this is quest reward, after you use the components to craft it into legendary it looks like this: http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...f-the-heavens/ note that this is the only legendary shield known to date from the db I am looking at. |

Faction grind is not all that bad...
I wish I knew what was at the end before I sold all those unneeded armor pieces though. Basically 2 things to add to my original post. 1 - for the heroic weapon quest, it tells you to go visit that NPC deep in thelaseen - that is a lie. Same npc that gives quest, gives you your weapon. 2 - DO NOT THROW AWAY unneeded armor pieces. When you get your ancient weapon, to make it legendary you need 300 motes, you get those by turning in your unused ancient armor pieces of any type. Tier1 piece yields 5, Tier 2 yields 15, Tier 3 - I don't know for sure, but I think it is 45. Furthermore, I suggest you roll greed on everything you can get your hands on if no one needs it - helps you get your legendary faster. |

Hmmm, that shield looks too good to pass up to be honest.
Especially since there seems to be a distinct lack of high level items in this game. I'm level 40 at present, just finished grinding for my level 38 Legendary Great axe "Subjugation". Other than messing in Southwatch I've never been to Thestra, not since level 15, a permenant resident of Qalia, so....my question is. If you were level 40, would you still do the WOSM grind and if so where and what would you start with? |
