Hello everybody.
I am considering playing on the test server for many reasons, some obvious and some not. I have a few questions before i invest anytime there. 1. How large is the community? 2. I have tried to play on the eq1 and 2 test servers. I had no noteworthy characters to mention on them, mainly because the community seemed closed off and very difficult to talk to. This question is, at present how friendly does the community seem in terms of tolerance and bahavior? 3. Do you think that a character on the test server would be a lonely proposition? Before anyone asks me, Yes, part of the reason i am interested in test is the newly offered double exp as an incentive to test. I would like to add though that i was considering playing on test before that announcement was made, it was this that swung me further into the decision of playing on test. If rewarding enough i might be able to pursuade my small guild to join me there. If however the community is anything like the eq2 and eq1 test communities then i will not even waste another moment of my time. I want to add here i do not dislike those other test server communities. However a few individuals i really felt ruined the whole.A good example would be that when i said hello for the first time after i learned how to join the global test channel (in eq2) what i got was people asking me why i felt qualified to play on test. Before i knew it five minutes later i found myself trying to defend my MMO experiences to these people. I felt that was no way to welcome a new comer. So i never logged in there again. I dont want a repeat of this type of experience. I really am looking for a smaller community that feels more nuclear than playing on a large population live server. Thank you for allowing me this post. I look foward to reading and appreciate in advance anyone who takes the time to answer my questions. Last edited by Pennilenko : 03-15-2007 at 01:47 PM. |

Second honestly on this forum were a bunch of (we think) cool folks who want to improve the game as a whole. Don't be afraid to throw your hat into the race as this server is going to rock.... Is it a bit slow during the days...yes, mostly because everyone is working (But i'll be here.) But at nights we have many on who are having a fun time as well as working out the kinks of the game. (Still looking for that /feedback button ...hint hint...) Come on in! The waters warm and as long as your willing to report bugs and help your friends out I can't see you having a problem here. Me casa is su casa...( Well however you spell it as I can't speak a lick of spanish!) ![]()

We currently have around 30-40 on during evenings and around 20 during the day. 2. At present how friendly does the community seem in terms of tolerance and bahavior? We presently have a very strong and friendly community. People answer questions when they can and often trade crafted and dropped items at cost via mail. Brokers are a bit screwed up as they still have the beta content on them. I asked Namdarie if they could reset the brokers and he said he'd have a designed look in to it. Frankly most of the current test server players are some of the best people I've talked to or played with in all of the MMOs I've played. 3. Do you think that a character on the test server would be a lonely proposition? I'll be honest alot of times you'll be solo as is pretty hard to travel to group up with people but groups do get formed. For the most part we hunt on Thestra so you may want to create your toon there or travel over as soon as you get a horse. Nice thing is with today's patch we get double exp perminantly unless Sigil is tweaking live exp then we will go back to that exp curve while they are testing it. So leveling solo isn't too bad. Make sure you join /test so you can talk to us if you come over. We'd be happy to have you we need all the testers we can get ![]()

While Venti's post is a bit more informative...(*Sigh's and scuffs his boots.*) He doesn't have the Me casa is sue casa...(Aaaah Ha!) And we all know that makes for a warmer feeling of welcome. ![]()

Hah! I hadn't thought about it that way, but Lilith is absolutely right!
![]() I'm splitting my time between test and live right now, along with all the other RL *grumble mumble* stuff. Unlike many people I love the peace & quiet on test, not to mention the helpfulness and camaraderie.

Re: Questions about test server community.
My wife and I rolled a vulmane duo on test last night, Names are Exousia and Delousia.
She is a Shaman and I am a Dread Knight. Unfortunately we wont be able to play on test full time, as we have guild responsibilities on Florendyl, However depending on how things go i might be able to swing my guild over to test a little at a time. We didnt really chat at all last night, instead we lurked in the /test channel. I must say not one argument, or name calling session really made our play experience better. The population doesnt even look like its going to be a problem since my wife and i mostly duo by ourselves anyways. She gets to angry when people group with us who dont care, and dont pay attention, so thats why we duo mostly alone hehe. P.S. I also started a little Psi - name is Pennilenko - High Elf |
