please don't beat me for this post
![]() CoH allows live copies. You are brought over as your character with no cash and no enhancements - but hey - you're level 50 and you can test the level 50 stuff. you have your attacks and that is it. The copy also takes (on average) less than 5 minutes. Personally, I enjoy having characters @ each 10 level increment so when things come up that need to be tested, I can just log in the appropriate character. My CoH test has that and I've found it makes for great testing/teaming flexibility I *prefer* to play on test because (as I've said elsewhere) I'm *horribly* anti-social I disagree with the "if you don't do this than 90% of your testers will leave" statement... but then again 78% of all statistics are made up on the fly and inflated anyway ![]() by the by - I'm Jhesstar on test - if you are looking for a psionocist - level 4

as usual my point is missed, normal everyday playing with a community tests over 75 percent of what they need tested (don't quote me on that one, but I've actualy heard its closer to 90) as for the cliques you get that with every server but since test is normaly a lower population these cliques are alittle more tight everybody knows everybody, if you get a bad reputation that reputation will haunt you where as a normal server guild jumpers are the norm. not sure what ya mean by conspiracy theory but I was just wondering if that was the same person, just sounded familiar...... |

Re: Test Server Present Ruleset
Starting over fresh on test is not impossible, and not something that should be looked on as a chore.
With the upcoming DE if you bring friends you can get a group up and into the mid 20's in 2-3 days. Your gonna be hard pressed for crafted gear, but I've seen already in influx of bags on the market, so there are people testing the crafting system. Come over this weekend and give it a shot, and bring a friend with you. |

Re: Test Server Present Ruleset
I'm fine with everything except...
First ... as some people already said - it's nearly impossible to get ANY name even close to what I'm using since over 7 years in MMOs. I would suggest to delete every character that hasn't been played on Test since Test launched. Now or with the begin of next month at the latest. Second ... I as many others I know went to play beta on beta 2 and 3, simply because with slower systems, the huge population at peaks and the running debugger lag on beta 1 was often unbearable. Now, not only have you completely disregarded all the work that was done on all but the beta 1 server, you have also NOT done what you announced to do: delete all the beta buffed characters from beta 1, so the playing field is all but leveled between people that just buffed on beta 1, people who worked their butts off on the other beta servers (That will sure teach me!) and people who just didn't have the luck to get into earlier beta phases and build characters. All this doesn't make for any good feelings by the people who now are expected to start completely new while having to look at some 35+ beta buffed persons. No - I'm not asking for buff masters etc, I'm asking Sigil to do what they said they would do: wipe everything buffed, wipe everything created after the date Sigil announced and posted, and add honestly played beta characters from the other beta servers as need occurs. Well, I think with around 20 people on the entire server (whenever I log in) I think the need is there. Dire need indeed. To summon it up: I'm disappointed. Not with the game, but with how Test Server got set up. Yes, I know, I'm just one customer and one Tester. But to be honest: ATM I'm a lot happier to play on Florendyl, the always fullest server with tons of griefers and constant fights what is appropriate RPing then I am on Test. No, I don't mind starting over ... I'm an Alt'o'holic anyway. And I sure appreciate Namdarie's work and the friendlyness of all the Dev's I have met so far. They all seem very dedicated to the game. But starting out a game with an unleveled playing field, no name to identify with and a long wait for something promised but just not happening kind of spoils Test for me and most of my friends from EQ1/EQ2. I will not give up on Test entirely yet, I'm always a fighter for seemingly lost causes. But atm it seems my time is better spend on Florendyl, where I at least can get an acceptable name, have friends, groups and guilds, and nobody is trying to tell me how I have to play my game. Tolerance to other peoples game styles, and the give-without-to-expect-something-back attitude of other Test Servers was what made me a long time Tester. The whole server working together like one big guild... Well, at least Sigil doesn't close out the possibility of moves. I might take you up on that, Namdarie. Purr~ PS: Forgive my errors, English is only my third language, and I'm very tired, having just returned from the memorial service for a dear old friend. |
