Can't download TS client

I click on the test server button and nothing happens, any suggestions? I tried a full file scan but to no avail.

have you tried yelling really loud at the computer and demanding it start working or else you will toss it out the window? *shrug* always works for my computer.

When you click on the test server button it should cause the launch pad to disappear and another launch pad to start. Maybe try a full scan to make sure you got the file that causes this downloaded correctly?

I'm hoping to find a shortcut directly to the test server since I'll be playing there more and don't want to have to launch 2 launch pads each time to play. (updater takes forever to connect)

As was mentioned in another thread, you can also create a second Icon for the test server.

Copy the Vanguard icon and add /testserver at the end of the 'Target:' field.

This might get you further, or re-try plan A, only yell louder.

Did you even read my post? it said i tried this. Anyone else have any suggestions? Is there a remote download site perhaps? The button just doesn't work. I'm thinking it's a bug which is why I posted it both here and on the VG tech forums. But no one really seems to know anything about this. Thanks anyway.

We're not tech support here, just other players trying to be helpful. Getting all arsy with us when we *can't* help, or misread in an effort to help isn't... er, helpful.

It does indeed sound like a launcher bug of some kind.

well since I guess I the cause of all this. I read your post after I'd been awake for about 30 min and before I finished my coffee, I didn't see your last part and was trying to be helpful.

Rourke I seriously doubt ANYONE here was trying to be a jerk. I guess I should have added winky smilie faces and others to show that I was joking about yelling at the computer. I was trying to add a bit of humor in.

Funny story about yelling at things:

I was a service tech at Magu Comm Ctr once, and there was an automated press there that had - issues! The guys all told me how to fix it, but I thought they were nuts! I even watched my mentor do it, but thought it was a set-up, until I got the call.

I went down, cringed as I drove on base and wound my way to the Ctr. Walked in and they were all waiting for me, waving and asking me if I was going to fix it this time. I went over to the press and the operator smiled, arms folded over his chest, and watched me open my tool case, pull the wings out and turn around, facing the press. And then, I did what any red blooded Multigraph tech would do to an erring machine...

"XEROX!"

...and yes, I felt totally stupid!

The operator grinned and walked over to the press, flipped the switch, started the feed and...

"Perfect! Thanks! Do ya want to do a PM while you're here, since you came all the way down?"

So, see? Yelling does fix things, sometimes! Now and then, ya even get paid for doing it! And ya have got to be able to laugh and find the humor in things, or life will be way too dull and things will pile up on you.

Now, about the server: I don't know what the "fix" is, but I'm sure someone out there might, so let's get back to the subject (who remembers what it is??) and see if we can't help each other, ok? There might even be another thread with the same discussion. I've been running all over since I got home tonite, so haven't been able to look.

I thought the answer by swordmage WAS the answer. just make sure you put the /testserver after the " behind vanguard.exe" in the target block of the shortcut. This is how I have my system set up. One shortcut for live, and one for test.
