Re: Cobbi's Rig'o'Doom!
I would probably go with this one. It has an 8 meg cache which for external isnt too bad. You will get almost as good a performance out of this as if it were internal.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144389 If you want to go all out though I would personally find a good external enclosure by itself possibly by a manufacturer who builds good cases. Then just get yourself a regular internal hard drive. It usually isnt to much more expensive but its a bit more work searching around and making sure you get something compatible. The up side to this is that you can generally find something that stays cooler and runs smoother as they worked on making a good enclosure instead of a complete system. The main reason for this however is to make sure that the setup is not propriotary. If you get a seperate enclosure and HDD you know that you can always upgrade the HDD with little trouble. Let me show you a few links of what I would probably do. For the 135 that the WD setup comes out to I would do. Enclosure: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817146053 Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144309 Well ok 150 bucks but still much better deal!

Re: Cobbi's Rig'o'Doom!
Yet another upgrade occured yesterday evening! A new widescreen monitor has been acquired and compiled into a multi-monitor setup, along with a shiny 7900GT video card. Sales make me happy. List is updated to reflect~

Re: Cobbi's Rig'o'Doom!
Dell is selling them for around $100 off the usual price, though I'm not sure if it's still going on.
Response time... I don't have a concrete number. How would I find out? It doesn't feel awkward though.
