Vacation/Extended away thread

Maybe we don't need it cause... you know - there are over 5000 members. But I've seen some posts here and there about "hey, where is so and so?" or "Whatever happened to you know who? I really miss their posts."

Maybe a Vacation/Away for a while thread will help for those who want to keep active with the community but need to be away from their compy for a while.

It would also give a place for all of those who will be leaving the game/community to say "until we meet again"

I think the idea is good. Recently we've seen some ppl leaving and maybe even more then just a thread it would be possible to create a forum, this way it would be possible to combine the threads that already exist about the ppl who for one reason or another have left already.

True, but the idea here is to collect all the I am heading to tibet for a month (hello dali), I will never darken your doorway again, and hi I'm back posts together in one place. Maybe a sub-forum of The Tavern?

I looked and I'm failing the 10% rule (you must be 10% smarter than the product you are wroking with for it to operate properly). I'll look again. I blame it on beta

That would be cool I can understand Pirotess' desire to use what is already available - and it should be utilized, but I think many people will post threads rather than going to set their settings. I certainly hope I am not the only one who missed them on my first forey.... but I wouldn't put it past me either

I'm all for it! My guild did much the same just so we could keep up with each other, but not on seperate forums. Might be a good idea, tho. We're a lot like a guild, aren't we?

The only thing I did watch in my guild was the "I'm leaving, you < insert whatever >'s" and all the fire and brimstone that accompanied it. We would remove those and talk to the person. Most times, it wasn't us, so it could have been a bit more "friendly", if you get my meaning. A simple, "I feel that it's my time to leave," thing is better, and go to PMs for details. There is no need to demoralize folks the way some seem to like to do.

I was talking to...erm...(has to look)...spicie, and she told me that forums make her so sad, and if the game fails, it's not because of the game. It's the mob rule and negativity on so many forums. Again, I thank everyone here for your ability to say what's on your mind and not do it to where the keyboard gets too hot to touch, but offer suggestions!

Theres nothing there atm. I was just suggesting that there are mods to these forums that allow you to set your status much like AIM or ICQs afk, etc. I'd have to install them for them to be usable.

That said I dont think I want to make a special forum just for that sort of stuff. Sticky a thread or the mods would be the way to go imo.
