Is there a Secret to Remembering Log In?
Hi all,
Everytime I log in I put in name and password and check the "remember me" box (which I assume works like the remember me box on every other forum. However, every time I come back I have to re-enter the name and password again. Is there some trick to get it to stick? |

Sounds like you have cookies disabled. What browser are you using?

Re: Is there a Secret to Remembering Log In?
I use SBC/ATT DSL and they have their own browser, although it plays off of IE. Anyway, all my other sites, like Vanguard, my guild forums, etc., keep me logged in so I don't think it's cookies unless this site is different...

Re: Is there a Secret to Remembering Log In?
one thing that might help you, you dont need to use their browser. A lot of the customer service representatives will tell you that you have too, but dont listen to em, ask for a higher level representative to help you install the software (that you need) without the browser. many times it is on the cd - just buried.

Re: Is there a Secret to Remembering Log In?
I've had that happen to me once or twice and had to blow away the cookies for this site to fix it.
If your browser keys off of IE then you should be able to find the cookie for our site in "Documents and Settings/[login name]/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files" by default. You should be able to sort by type and then find the files that start with cookie: and have vanguardspheres.com in them. Give that a shot.

Re: Is there a Secret to Remembering Log In?
It's entirely possible your cookies for this site have been corrupted. It sees a cookie, so it doesn't overwrite it, but the data in it is garbled, so it doesn't log you in either. You can manually go into your cookie store and delete all references to vanguardsperes.com, or you can clear the whole thing (not a bad idea to do that once in a while anyway).
