I did a pally first... mainly 'cause I've been completely engrosed in DAZ Studio and that's what I had the models for. She doesn't have any pants, mainly because I don't have any models for them. Once I get some I'll prolly add some pants or high boots or leggings for her. So for now just suspend disbelief and enjoy the eye candy. =D

I especially like the detail work on that little scrap she's wearing, and the clear shield is nicely done.

I think I'm gonna wait until she has some armor on to put her on the pally page... Can't have everyone thinkin' that I'm the typical male gamer who thinks that females should fight in their lingerie.

hehe, yeah.. she really needs some pants, or at least some thigh high stockings or boots, something for her arms would be good too.

I've only purchased one thing for daz, it's the morphs and maps for the aiko model so I could make her look more realistic and not so anime... everything else (including the program itself) is stuff I've found for free. I've figured out how to modify the textures on things (how I got her speedo to match her breastplate) but I don't know how to actually create the pieces.. and I don't think I have the software to do it atm. Once I beg and plead enough for my lovely man to get me a platinum membership I'll start gathering more armor pieces and things, there's some nice things available I could use.

I would love to play with Daz and make cool stuff... but I can't draw to save my life. And I would imagine that even when making 3d models, you need some good ol fashioned artistic ability.

I'll simply have to rely on people like you to get my fix

Nope... can't draw in daz, no paint brushes, no pens, no drawing of any kind, you place a figure and more the body parts around with sliders or use a premade pose that someone came up with... the little pally's pose was a premade pose that I fiddled with a bit to hold the weapon and shield. Then you decide what you want them to be wearing and load that in and hope it fits, if not you get to play with sliders some more to get it to fit, same with the hair... basically, if you can look at something and say 'that looks nice' or 'that looks ugly' you can make some pretty nifty looking pictures. You put in the lighting, there's a choice of spotlights distance lights and point lights, you can put them whereever you want, the spot lights can be pointing where ever you want them, the pally picture has 2 spotlights and a distance light. You can also put in a bunch of different cameras so you can get a couple shots you like set up to render, I had 3 cameras for her, a close one, I far one, and a 3rd one I moved around to check details and make changes to things.

Anyway.. early morning rambling... the short version: no traditional artistic ability needed, just a good eye.
