Further to this, and by way of example, ThunderAxe's sig (above) is 350x139, and my sig is 400x60. Often you're constrained by the image you choose to use as your sig, but also you can obtain a more artistic sig without any loss of information or compromise of layout in a smaller area (my sig as an example). My previous sig was 400x100 and took up significantly more vertical space, and to be honest I much prefer the smaller version - it's less obtrusive. Don't feel you have to make a sig at the maximum size we allow.

Ultimately, resize / crop your background (assuming you have one) to the size you wish you final image to be, then work at that resolution - the end results are far better than making a large image and shrinking it down as you get a better idea of the end result.

Oh yes, and work in layers - much easier to alter, hide, adjust and position text and other element's if they're on their own individual layers.

Well its not much, but its mine. Just a couple of pics I found on the main Vanguard site if I remember right. I stole the sword and shield out of one of the pics and planted it in the other one. I just got lucky that they matched up so good.

Got to give Kudos to my Fiancee for helping me with it and also to Lightning for finally getting it to show up correctly on the posts.
