I may have to change my main site location.
As it stands with Vanguard Fighters I have the most dificulty being able to utilize its forums. Its websenced at work and I have to use a proxy server of which I can not log in because of the security image does not display. And now from my own home I get this little dandy of a message.
You are using an Invalid IP to access this site! which is utter bs. So with that said, I am debating moving to a more access friendly site, or just Build my own site, considering I just built three vBulletin websites this year I am thinking the prior ,, tho building a site soley dedicated to Dread Knights would not be a bad idea. hhhmm Any ways I will let you all know whats up,, but for now you will find me on Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer. Sorry for the inconvenience but I just can not access these forums, I literaly have to go thru a proxy server every time which is a hassle.

There is an existing Vanguard Dreadknight community over at http://www.evilgamer.net/forums/. The folks of the EQ community were kind enough to set it up a few months ago. There are 5 board sections devoted to General stuff, Equipment, Quests, Class Balance, and Spells and Abilities. I am in the process making guides for the appropriate sections, and would love to see people get involved over there.

Browsed the site for all of 30 seconds, so far i found a spammer advertising pay check advance.....and one post stating Drd is a horrible broken class. But no details or reasons given. ALL in all not a constructive post. I want a constructive community not a forum of flamers and spammers. This site needs work in my opinion.

The VG boards there tend to get 3 or 4 spammers a day, but the moderator removes them on a daily basis. Additionally, while it is not currently very active, the community as a whole is. That being said, the board is know for its speak-your-mind attitude, but if what you post is lame, there is a rep system in place that places the control in the hands of the other members to control misinformation and spamming and flaming. I refer you to this thread for information on the rep system. Additionally, the hosting costs and the boards are already there. If the community grows, it is a given that more moderators will be provided, thus minimizing the impact of spammers and such.
EDIT Also, I feel that the demographics in play, that being EQ SKs and VG DKs mesh well, and will make the community as a whole stronger. |

I feel your pain, Xaices - the "invalid IP" crap is some of the security I have in place to keep this PoS phpnuke system from being exploited left, right and centre.
To be honest, I'd thoroughly support an independant DK site - no one else is posting here, and I think VF has run it's course. |

I hate to see this site go, because of the value of the idea. Of course the reality is that it did outlive its time with VG itself letting us down in ways as players and with class leads and communities chosing alternative places to post at.
But in reality, as a dreadknight I do want my own dedicated home. However as a player and as a tank archetype personality, I think there is a lot of value in having all tank archetype communities at the same domain in different rooms because of ability to constructively communicate(as opposed to having total class bitching at official forum boards), where class leads can set the professional and courteous and constructive style of discussion between members of communities. But that is just my vision. It would rock my boat if I would have 1 site to go to, to gain insight into war and paladin and drk problems and see class leaders openly discussing class comparison and interactivity as opposed to relying on official boards bitchfest for information. |
