Dread Knight Dual wield.
Since i'm atm torn between Warrior and Dread Knight (lvling up both side by side while trying to keep up with my GFs cleric *phew*). I was thinking maybe adding DW to Dread knights would help on some issues along with addint more utility.
Since in VG unlike most other games when using DW and using a melee skill you get bonus (yellow dmg) on both weapons. And since i've notised myself and hear some complaining about our DC count going up a tad too slow this might help. If we get DC count for both yellow hits when doing vexing strike or whatever along with allowing us and increased chance to get those important chains off. I can't see why not and where it would be overpowered atm but i' sure someone can point it out. Just an idea i'd like to see as i'm atm leaning towards going DK (60/40 in DK favour vs Warrior atm). Ps. Could use a little flavour to DW animation, they all look the same. pps. Fix the goddamn Vulmane str/dex cap! ops2: |

Wierd i thought Dreadknights were warriors turned to a darker path.
Where are pure warriors are masters of tactic and brute force. Not like you couldn't still use 2handers for dk for higher peak dmg. Just something i'd like to see on DK and prolly other too? Atm it's DW and cc immune vs Shadowstep that's keeping me to DK atm. If warriors gets Leap attack back... |

Knight classes in every game from EQ onwards have used two-handers while warriors are the dual-wielding tank. It is a well-established tradition, and one that makes sense, in my opinion. Leave dual wielding to the light fighters, DK's have our massive two-handers.
The "bonus damage" you're referring to on dual wield is actually the damage being reported for the mainhand and offhand separately. If you look in your combat log they total the number together to show you what the ability actually hit for. If you're looking for dps, Warriors far outstrip DK's. This has less to do with dual wield and more to do with abilities. |

I'm not referring to bonus dmg of any sort but the yellow hit from main and offhand.
If vexing strike for example for DC count for both yellow hits DW would be a good option to build faster DC and somewhat more static dmg while giving up high peak dmg of twohanders. |

your opinion on dual wielding reflects the fact that you have not read a post by some developer a Xaices from a while ago, which stated that for Dual Wielding, your damage is calculated as 66.6% your primary hand and 33.3% your secondary hand. Which means that they are highly likely to do the same thing with DC effects, and on DPS =this means that on average, you do not gain or lose anything from dual wielding or 2handing or S&B in terms of straight damage over a very long term, unless you have abilities geared towards dual wielding, which DRK does not have. In the short term of course dual wielding might have a higher chance to cause a crit from either or both weapons, however those crits are scaled down because initial weapon damage is. I am not completely sure in my righteousness here as I have never tested this, but I am pretty sure there was a post on this somewhere in the pile. Correct me if I am wrong here please. Thanks |
