So what now Xaices/Avair?

SOE took over Sigil and Vanguard, thats said and done. Personally I think its for the better. Now there is going to be that transition period. My question is how will this affect DK's in general.

I know it's a bit early, but maybe your thoughts or opinions.

1) Will Avair still be a continuing class dev?

2) Will Xaices still be our class lead?

3) With SOE opening up their own forums, is that the place to post our thoughts/feedbacks/comments?

Here are my thoughts.

What I would like is a dedicated class dev, if not then one for defensive fighters only. Having a centralized place to post our ideas/comments will also be for the best, as there is no middle man now. Avair if re-hired should focus on just a certain type of class rather than hop from one to the next. Xaices you've been a great class lead but with the new change and your social life taking you away maybe now would be good time to bow out gracefully.

Maybe im reading too much in what you wrote but I find it rather "rude" and condescending the way you point Xaices to the door. He has done nothing but a great job so far and I dont think any of us is entitled to tell him weither or not he should take the leave. Beside, IIRC, he is currently away not for his social life but for family matters. I do not remember him telling being class lead was becoming less and less managable given his private schedule. But then again, maybe im reading too much in what you wrote.
Beside, it has always been of great interest to the community to have one stand out and represent us as a whole. Makes for easier communication with dev teams and reduce the noise ratio.

That said, I do agree that having a defensive fighter dedicated dev would be nice and prolly more time efficient and fully support that idea, be it Avair or someone else.

Also, im glad that we will finally have one centralised board and no longer have to browse tons of affiliate sites to find relevant data. I hope it will not prove the death of VGfighters or TTH for example though.

As for the future, well SOE has the experience and knowledge so lets hope all we go for the best.

You definately are taking in the wrong way. I have always been 100% supportive of Xaices. Never once have I questioned his ability as class lead. I find it quite insulting you took it as such.

Honestly I feel for him. He's had some rough occurences in his life these past few months. He's always been kind enough to let us know his status through all of this. The truth is something like that takes a toll on a person. Not to mention the constant demands that we make on him as well. Personally I would have been fed up quite some time ago, but he's stuck it out. But now maybe he's re-evaluating priorities in life and Vanguard and now is no better time to decide upon them.

On a side note, I read SOE will not have class specific forums as they like the idea of having affiliate sites. So it looks like Vanguardfighters will still be the place to post (for DK's at least).

Social Life?

The new changes are not changing class leads, what class dev they work with or realy any relation inbetween lead and dev. Only thing changing realy is a back log of tasks to complete during this transition period.

There is no change to my social life. I took 10 days to take care of some family afairs, My Fathers Death. That is not realy a change in my social life. Reguardless if it was a death, I wanted to go to Disney World or wanted to travel Europe I took 10 days to do, well things I wanted to do. I am never going to be here 24/7 365, but I will garantee you I will be here damn near 11 months out of the year. If that changes I will step down, but for now I work a 6am to 5pm Desk Job which affords me garanteed weekends off and 4 days off every national holiday. This meens I can spend several hours a week, reading forums, e-mails, pms and playing the game, while still having a normal real life where I can go and do the things that I want with out it having a grave impact on the Dread Knight class.

rather like it personally, but maybe with this change, SOE bosses will be more accessible and if you gotta go over Avair's head to make a worthy change you should do it. Avair seems like a genuine a$$hat to me and his vision for DRK just Fing sux. In addition he is a stubborn old fart, and it is just painful to see the whole 12 inches DRK class moved in last 3 month, while other classes are piling up a mile ahead. I mean cmon! Fire Avair already... wish SoE did.
