1 hand weapon advise
Hello, i been looking for a new 1 hand weapon last nite. I usully use a club/hammer, i been given a nice club when i was a newb and i continue with it after.
WHen i was looking for a new weapon last nite, i found 2-3 that was ok and cheap. a Mace with 23dps and 23 or 30 armor 2.65 or 2.75 as speed, not 100% of the speed. The other was a short sword 24 dps 15 parry 30 something HP 2.05 speed if i recall. So i pick the short sword it was very fast and pretty much same dmg as the mace, only difference was mace top dmg was 80 and SSword was 60. So my question is, what do you think is the best, a very fast weapon with a little lower max dmg or a slower weapon with high dmg? Now the armor on mace versus the parry on the sword, don't forget Ssword have 5 greater chance to crit. On another subject, still on the same field, do we have some kind of restriction to learn skill in a specific weapon (Short sword, dagger ...) or you can max all the skill for weapon that you have access? I have read something a few week ago about skill learning, but it wasn't clear. Thanks you for you excellent advise again. Tborg 26 DK. |

The SS is substantially better than the mace, you made a wise choice.
When you are looking at upgrading weapons, weapon DPS and weapon speed also means very little if you aren't the type of person that pays attention during combat. If you are an endurance spammer, spending cash on small DPS upgrades won't translate into much of an increase for you. You can max all your weapon skills.....but it's annoying. It's also not completely necessary since the melee weapons lean heavier in the slashing categories. You won't consistently and easily find blunt weapons with the melee stats you want. I carry a 1HS, 2HS, 1HB, 2HB, Bow and Raise their respective skills. I would be more concerned with the weapon schools than the weapon specific skills. As long as you can hit something, you can always raise that weapon specific skill quickly when you are adventuring if you upgraded a short sword with a longsword or a bastard sword with a greataxe, etc. |

sword is better due to +5% crit and parry is a nice bonus
for your other questino generally slower is the weapon better is it as, with same dps it will deal more raw damage that is important for our dmg skills sue to the fact that refresh doesn't change with weapon speed so if you see 2 weapons with similar stats but different speed always go for the slowest one. generally i'd say that raw damage and +crit are the first thing to look at, then dps and +%to hit or +weapon skills that are very nice bonuses on weapons and armors |
