What are your Top 5 Bugs.
This threads purpose is to capture the communities top bugs and get them fixed ahead of the others.
When you post in this thread you will (or I will not submit them) follow the intstructions. Instructions: 1. First put the name of the abilit/symbol.(DO NOT list Stances/Forms, Race, Quest, Item bugs this is dread knight abilities only and stances are being looked into) 2. Explain the bug in DETAIL! Word you explanation percisely. Word it so well that some one who did not even know what Vangaurd was could understand it. 3. List the instances of which the bug occurs. 4. DO NOT list issues. This is not an issue thread. 5. Only list 5 bugs. 6. DO NOT post more than once. Post one time and use the edit command should you want to change something. Note: If you want things fixed do not post 1 liner crap relies. Such as.. Anguish is broke its doesn't work its a pile of drake doo. That does not tell me or the Developers jack shyt. Some of you are higher level than me. You are dealing with abilities I can not test since Sigil removed my class lead commands on the test server. In light of this I need your help not your hinderance. Please be Thurough. I want to keep this thread clean, I do not want to see a lot of discussion posts this is not a discussion. Sorting through 6 pages of nonsence of people bickering, chatting, listing bugs that are quest related, item related, race related, etc. This is not the thread for that. All I want to see is people post one time with their submission. The I will not submit them bit at the top is not a threat its there to make you realize that I do not want a bunch of garbage in this thread. I want to accomplish something useing your feed back, and I have minimum time to do so. Help me help you. Thanks Xaices. edit: made the instructions more informative to include DO NOT LIST Race, Quest, Item bugs. This is a Dread Knight Only. Again be sure to be descriptive and thurough.

1. Slay - some npc still have the 'immune' tag up so even though we might crit it does 0 damage
2. Dark Bastion - doesnt give full AC anymore (by the looks of it, it makes your AC go down actually havent run tests yet) 3. Shadow Step - fails or decides not to activate randomly such as using up energy and starting the cooldown but never puts you behind the enemy 4. Shield of Fear - it doesnt change with your DC and i've never seen it really change my block by a percentage 5. (more of a peeve of mine) Ruin - after you use wrack you can hit the ruin button without waiting on the cooldown (say by lag) and it will use up action without ever actually useing it in the other thread too :P |

Bug #1) Vulmane Point Allocation is bugged.
I'm not sure if this is a Dreadknight bug per se, but it effectively works as one. Behavior Vulmane are supposed to get 1 str, 1 dex, and 2 wis per level - automatically (in addition to 1 point in each stat, also automatically). Characters also get 10 free points per level to allocate to any of their 6 statistics as they see fit. They are also allowed to place up to 4 points in any one stat - even str/dex/wis. This allows them an advantage in str and dex, and they potentially have the highest Wisdom stat of all the classes. See The Dread Knight Creation Guide at Ten Ton Hammer for full details. However, when a Vulmane Dreadknight levels up, they may only allocate 3 points into Str and Dex, and 2 points into Wis, as opposed to the 4 they should be able to allocate. This results in our racial stat pool effectively doing nothing to our advantage. Any Vulmane Dreadknight I have talked to is running around with 30+ unallocated attribute points (I'm approaching 50 at level 23, myself) while waiting for a fix. Any fix made should also be retroactive - meaning, after implementation, a level 40 Vulmane Dreadknight should be able to dump 30 points into str, 30 points into dex, and 60 points into Wisdom, assuming he has enough attribute points to do so. Instances during which this bug occurs Whenever a Vulmane Dreadknight levels up. ---- Bug #2) The Incoming Crit% on DC doesn't always work. Behavior This one's weird. I am a Vulmane Dreadknight, level 23. My friend is a Vulmane Dreadknight, level 22. The Incoming Crit% works for him, but not for me - as far as we can tell. We spent hours in Tsang's Tomb last night, and he was managing to pull aggro off of me with his Wrack/Ruin chains on a regular basis, despite me having a head start. Also, he was using an 18DPS 2H sword (I forget the name), while I was using the final version of Kel'Set Dar (35 DPS 2H axe). I tried both offensive and defensive stances. And yes, I was maintaining torture and provoking every time it was up. There is NO WAY I should have lost aggro, except against intense critical hit action. What basically occurred is, for the entire evening, he crit twice as often as I did while we were grouped. Consistently. For four hours. (More probably coming. I'll edit this post in the future.) Even more amusing, I seem to crit more often with him in the group - solo, I'm lucky if I scrape up a 7-9% crit rate over the course of an hour. This is with a 9.2% base crit rate thanks to max dex (as max as it can be, being Vulmane). With him in the group, it ascends to perhaps 12%. He regularly enjoys 13-20%, depending on his DC level. Instances during which this bug occurs At least for me, at all times. For my friend, seemingly never. I'm greatly confused by it. Please examine. ![]() --- (More probably coming. I'll edit this post in the future) |

1. Shield of Fear/Dark Bastion - I am listing these two abilities under one 'bug' because they are a bridge/finisher chain and both seeming to suffer from the same problem.
Shield of Fear is a defensive bridge attack, meaning that when it is used it applies a defensive buff to the pc. Shield of fear is supposed to provide a boost of X amount to the block percentage of the pc per level of Dreadful Countenance. It is not doing this. It is not scaling with DC in any way. Likewise, Dark Bastion is the defensive finisher in this chain. It is supposed to apply a buff to the PC which gives an ac bonus of X per level of Dreadful Countenance. It is not doing this. It gives only the bonus of the level that DC is at when the ability is used and never scales up or down from that point. This issue happens with these abilities 100% of the time. 2. Nexus of Hatred - Nexus of hatred is an AoE rescue. This ability is supposed to force all mobs which are attacking your defensive target to attack you instead, for X amount of attacks. It does not do this. Currently it pulls a seemingly random number of mobs off of the defensive target, they do not attack you for the prescibed amout of attacks and it will also draw the agro of mobs that are not currently engaged with you or your group but are within it's 'radius'. This is reproduceable 100% of the time when using this ability if multiple mobs are attacking your defensive target. 3. Slay- Slay is currently a high damage, high crit chance attack which can only be used when the target is at 20% or lower health. Slay used to be a 'deathblow' which had a chance of outright killing a target if it were at or below 10% health. When the ability was in it's 'deathblow ' form many mobs were flagged as immune to the ability. Now that is has been recently changed to a regular damage attack, these same mobs are still flagged as immune to the ability and thus the ability can not damage them. This is reproduceable 100% of the time on mobs that were flagged as 'immune' to Slay. 4. Symbol of Despair - Symbol of Despair is a defensive self buff. This Symbol is supposed to absorb X amount of damage every few seconds and have X chance of causing an attacking mob to be stunned for a few seconds. The Symbol is currently not applying the 'Stunned' effect (as it would be seen in the weakness/exploits window) to the attacking mob(s). It seems that it might be 'stunning' mobs, but it is not applying the 'Stunned' effect for exploitation/identification that it's working (I hope this makes sense) This is reproduceable 100% of the time when using this Symbol. 5. Scythe of Doom - This ability is an area of effect melee based lifetap. It is an attack which is able to hit multiple targets and return the damage dealt to them as health to the player character. Scythe of Doom randomly 'misfires' - meaning that it uses endurance but does not do anything at all - it does no damage - does not 'miss' - returns no health. This is not related to not being positioned correctly with the mobs one is fighting - the ability simply fails sometimes. This bug happens randomly, you simply have to use the ability until it happens to you. |

Shadow Step:
Since the latest patch I have been getting a mini version of the teleportation bug when using Shadow Step. When using Shadow Step it places my character behind the mob, but also elevates him a good bit above the ground, which then causes him to fall a little ways after using the ability. The distance fallen is not enough to take any damage, but it causes the camera to jolt around when I use shadow step, and makes me want to use the ability less, since it is rather annoying. This bug has persisted since the hotfix to correct the issue with the teleporters. This bug, for me, is 100% reproduceable and occurs every time I use shadow step. |

Scourge - Breaks mez even when there is an unmezzed mob attacking your defensive target.
Typical scenario: Group is fighting 3 mobs (usually because a roamer has added). I am tanking one mob, psionist has mezzed a second mob and is working on the third. The other two mobs are aggro on either the cleric (because of a heal) or the psi (because of CC aggro), so I use Scourge on them to buy a little time for the psi to finish his work. However, instead of intercepting an attack as the tooltip states, Scourge actually just picks the first mob it sees with aggro on my defensive target, meaning there is a 50% chance I will break the mez and make matters worse. Slay - Not really a top 5 by itself, but hoping it can be addressed while the Immune issue is being fixed since Slay was changed: this skill doesn't put any kind of damage message in the combat log for successful attempts (except for critical damage if it crits). Misses are recorded in the combat log. |

1) Scythe of Doom -- our AE lifetap attack, is supposed to hit all mobs in front of us for damage, and we gain the damage back as HP.
Currently the ability misfires frequently. Previous to Mar28, it seemed to misfire once in a blue moon, but now it misfires repeatedly, sometimes for 20-60 minute stretches in certain areas. The Arena near Strandan and the Shidreth Mines between CIS and River Valley are two such areas where I've recently noticed that Scythe of Doom almost *never* works. 2) Shield of Fear -- This ability, a defensive finisher, adds +2% block per level of DC at the time it is used. If I am at DC4, I should gain 8% block for 3 minutes. The buff provided by this skill does not seem to increase our block % accordingly, as I was at 14% block before, and after, applying this buff. I've tested several times. 3) Dark Bastion -- This ability, a defensive finisher, adds +100 AC per level of DC at the time it is used. If I am at DC4, I gain 400 AC from this buff for 3 minutes. While I only get a single buff icon, a DC2, DC3, and DC4 version all stack with each other. 4) Related to the above 2) and 3) -- several DKs have recently requested that these skill change to "slide" down if we switch mobs, or kill one and pull a new mob. It's not a bug. It allows us to maintain our DC4 (for example) AC buff from fight to fight and is on the same level as the paladin AC buff or warrior mitigation buff in that regard. I'm not sure where the impression that this is some sort of bug has come from, but I'd like to put this on my list in the "Not a bug" category -- to hopefully save you some time Xaices. 5) Shadow Step -- the skill which teleports us behind a mob to allow us to perform a rear attack such as Harrow, has a couple of issues. Most random failures during combat seem to result from an auto-attack swing. If I push Shadowstep and wait for autoattack to fire, I receive an error message: "Failed" on my screen and in my combat log, reads: "This ability can not be used with shadowstep." I then have to push Shadowstep *again* to re-activate it. There is another random-failure bug which I can't explain, where it actually uses the energy and places Shadowstep on its cooldown, but doesn't actually work. This bug is particularly nasty as Harrow is our largest lifetap and is absolutely necessary to have access to it when we need it! A third Shadowstep bug that I've observed is, perhaps, terrain-related. Occasionally when trying to use shadowstep+Phantasmal Blade (mez) for example, it will simply fail if the mob has his back or shoulder against an object. This is fine -- if there's no space behind the mob and this is a legitimate limitation of the ability -- then we need a message saying such. In either case, it should not use the mana and engage the cooldown, but it does. A few other times, it will teleport us inside a wall, rock, or pillar though these are obviously not DK-specific. |

1. Cull
2. Cull is only useable when a mob is stunned. This abillity is currently only really benefitial when solo'ing as stuns do not last beyond the 2 second skill cooldown. In a group stun effects wear off almost immediately due to so many people landing hits on the mobs. Perhaps this is a bug with how stuns work instead? 3. Occurs when grouped with enough people to make stun not last long enough to land cull. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Shadow Step 2. As previously mentioned by Lusain, I think half of the problems with shadow step occurs because auto attack is not turned off by using the ability. It would be nice is using shadow step turned auto attack off so that we don't get those annoying "you can not use with slashing" type error messages. You can get those messages 3-4 times in a row, always when you're really low on hp too it seems. : / 3. Occurs when you try to shadow step right as autoattack cycles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Nexus of Hatred 2. This one kind of baffles me. Half the time it doesn't work I believe due to range issues with both mobs and defensive target. Other times it seems to go off but it just doesn't seem to work. I really think this skill should be changed to be an aoe rescue regardless of your defensive target. Make it more like an AOE seething hatred that only effects mobs aggro'd on your group and in range. This skill may be working as intended, but if it is its not a very good skill. 3. Occurs fairly often in pretty much any circumstance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are the more buglike problems I can think of currently. I have ALOT of different problems that are better defined as "issues". I can't wait for that thread. |

1) Shadow Step
Randomly misfires, triggering the cooldown, but not teleporting me like the ability is supposed to. I have had this happen on completely flat terrain, so it does not seem to be due to obstacles. 2) Slay All mobs that were previously immune to slay take no damage from the ability, although criticals still trigger finishers. 3) Shield of Fear/Dark Bastion These abilities no longer scale appropriately with increasing levels of DC. 4) Scourge Still seems to be dealing only 1 damage rather than the intended amount. 5) Nexus of Hatred Does not rescue any mobs off of my defensive target, much less all of them. |
