Build 1780c Animations & Particle Effects 3/19/2007
With today's patch, I noticed some new Animations and particle effects, and I would like to mention them and hopefully have them addressed here...
Devour Strength: Bugged. When cast, the particle effect shows over the mob's head as a brain, which is obviously intended for Devour Mind. Devour Mind: This shows the proper particle effect and I like how it is no longer over the player avatar's head, but the mob itself, as it should be. Slay: Please revert the particle effect animation to the black ethereal skull above the Mob and player's head and not the distracting white skull & crossbones. It looks a bit ridiculous. It looks far more imposing and dreadful looking in it's previous form. Finishing animations: The crossed swords particle effect above the player avatar's head is terribly ugly and very unnecessary. The animation looks terrific as it is, the particle effect crossed-swords just takes away from it and is totally out of place. Please remove this. It does not need to be there. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I hate it. Im sure others agree... In spite of the above, the particle affect of the blade trails following sword swings on some combat skills looks quite nice, and the other effects like black smoke and crimson magics looks quite wicked! Also, im glad the coloration of the graphic for Abyssal Chains was changed to be silver or spectral chains instead of the reddish, rusty color of the effect previously. It looked messy and convoluted. Before today's patch, the spell effect looked like a bowl of spaghetti was dumped all over the target's legs!
