Ladt nite fighting ants in the mound near the Keep. We pull 1 get 2 or 3 I found it was alot easier to hold argro on all the mobs by being defencive and using SoD. I think the suppose healing that SoD is to do is generating a Nice bit of argro. When I did lose argro I was using rescue and the Hate me for 4 hits spell sorry forgot name.

Was alot of fun and with the double exp was worth a couple of levels.

The only real time i can honestly say I struggle with aggro, is when players cast or damage on incomming. From what i have seen so far, a fair number of our DPS counterparts still have much to learn about controlling there aggro. But, if i'm in a group with players who wait for my assist call, it is rare i lose the aggro, and its usually only when some wizzy like triple crit'd or something.

Right now my system is to Tag wih Torture --> Seething Hatred so mob stays on me while i build aggro --> provoke --> Malice --> Vexing strike

Hopefully somewhere in there Wrack & Ruin pop, I find those are FAR more aggro then the Incite line of chains.

My process:

Pull with Torture
Shoot with Arrows or debuff
Malice
Vexing Strike - spam until I crit
When i crit I use the Incite chain
Use Ravenging Darkness.

rinse repeat as necessary. If my incite chain goes off it is virtually impossible for anyone to pull it off me. I tested this with a 40 ranger and Sorceror and they were not able to pull it off me and im level 37.

Use Incite Hatred to pull it back to you.

Or make him sweat and rescue at the last minute.

Incite chain? It always felt for me that the wrack chain was better dmg and overall hate than the Incite chain. Any reason you choose incite over wrack? I think the hate portion (maybe even dmg lowered) need to be upped alot on incite first for me =/

Incite Chain has never failed in pulling the aggro back to me (to date, knock on wood). I think the hate stated on the tooltip is a bit off. I have had the same effect on the DPS not being able to pull it off me after I finish the chain. My only gripe is there are too many mobs with counters that stun after I crit and I waste the second part of the chain due to the cooldown for Incite.

Incite is definetly the way to go. You pretty much only need to use it once per fight and then use wrack/ruin.

Since they are upping the damage of our chains this will help significantly.

Hmm will check it out next time I'm in game. Wrack/Ruin always seemed better at lower levels and just kind of stuck with it. That, and I can just hit 'G' and it does it for me instead of me clicking =p Anyway to change that?

I have Incite and Wrack on seperate buttons on my hotbar. I moved them to my primary hotbar so I didn't have to give myself carpal tunnel trying to hit them from my secondary hotbars. I use a gamepad keyboard though that allows me easy access to 27 buttons, 18 of which I can hit without any hand repositioning, so I have the room for now.

Is Ruin a higher lvl ability? I don't remember seeing that one, but I am also only 18. Sadly my goals of pushing past 20 over the double xp weekend were crushed by a huge outage in my area. If my internet ever comes back up for more than an hour or so at a time I might be able to get in and see what the effects of the new patch are!
