Newbie question
Being level 27 don't ask me how I don't know the answer to this.
I saw a feared mob run right through a set of mobs that would normaly be social to said mob. I was expecting all the non-agrod mobs to agro the person who had feared the mob. This did not happen. My questions is was this an oddity or do feared mobs not cause link agro with other social mobs. P.S. I have not really ever solo'd much so I never used fear but it would be nice to know if I could use it as a form of CC. Never have to this point due to my assumption it would simply run off and bring a host of friends back with it.

I found out the hard way that fearing a mob into other mobs can cause them to agro, its the same as if a damaged mob that is running runs to friends they agro the same way, well thats at least what ive found I guess ill test this some more tonight when I get home from work.

I didn't really use fear much until I got my snare and had a little more control over how far a mob could get while it was feared.
While running from Hathor Zhi back to ToD I saw a lower level DK fighting Aeokers. He feared one that spawned on him while he was already fighting a mob. It ran off while he continued fighting his original target. The feared one came back with two buddies in tow. So, the answer to your question is yes, fear can cause adds. I have also seen the occasion where a near dead mob wandered off from the fight over near his buddies, but they did not aggro. Perhaps it's just a bug that creeps in sometimes. |

Now that would make sense. Guess I should go find a camp of lower level mobs and expierement.

From personal experience (I use fear a lot as fear-kiting and CC in the outdoors):
Some mobs are very social and will aggro you if a feared friend runs into their ranks, but most of the time they will only aggro if fear breaks and then the mob grabs its friends. However, there are mobs that are anti-social and no matter what you can fear a mob all over the place and it just comes back to you sans friends.
