Word Of Doom

I had an interesting epiphany on Word of Doom.

Everyone hates the 15minute Cooldown for its current neligable damage.

So what if we made it more Doomy?

How do we do that? How do we encourage grouping? And satisfy the need for more AUTHUM sounding goodness?

First, it needs to scale a bit better on its own.
That's an arguement for a different day though.

Here is the reducing the cooldown timer idea. Set the MAX timer at 15minutes. However, set up a built in cooldown reduction algorythm up so that it can be up as often as a minute in a full on raid situation, or every 5minutes in group or 10minutes solo.

What do we use as the basis for the timer reduction algorythm? KILLING THINGS. Find a kill rate for the reasonable killing of mobs in each of those situations using average gear etc. So solo you may need to kill 5 or 10 mobs to get the reduction. In a group 20. And a raid 30.

I am sure you can make the math complicated as all get out. And killing things is the most Dread like thing I could come up with atm.

Other ideas would be getting a 10secs per level of DC acheived on each mob reduction for the timer. And this idea might hold more merit.

On 2 dots you are lucky to see DC2 before it dies. So a 20 second reduction per mob solo. leads to 15ish mobs to get down to 10min.

On group stuff DC 3 is fairly easy to achieve into the early 20s ...

What do you all think of this as an idea to make the ability more Dreadful?

interesting stuff but honestly they need to make it a non-resistable spell and lower the time to 8 minute refresh time. even honeestly 5 minutes what it was before. no compromising on this or we basically give in to their stupidity of design.

I just don't buy WoD on a 5 minutes timer offer that much more to our DPS meter, sorry sigil yet another drop of the ball becuase you are trying to balance a game for a small percentage of pvpers. lame as you can get.

There are alot of PVPers so chuck the small percentage thing... but I agree with you.. as bad as this thing it they could double it and it still wouldnt hit much harder then I do with a lego 2 hander.... This ability is awefull and worthless atm.. and for PVP the have a pvp dmg mitigation thing going on so this really is not about PVP because it will never hit max value on a player on a pvp server anyways.
