Keris I do understand I should have put a torture on the mob but I was trying to gain hate with hits I was testing the so called 30% hate per attack.
Now on the other hand and in totally different situation than I explained above I had my warrior friend turn on auto attack after I had full agro on a mob meaning I had already casted torture, provoke, ravaging drakness and some other attacks like malice on a mob and the Warrior pulled agro from me. The warrior is an officer in my guild and he was well aware I was testing agro so he was not messing around with rescues or anything of that nature. WTF is that all about ? I have noticed its rediculously simple for Warriors to gain and hold agro should they not have to work a bit at it and develop some strategy ? or is that left only for Dk and Pallys ? I love the fact that agro is a bit of a challenge in this game as opposed to games like EQ2 where Guardians could taunt once and walk away from the computer for the duration of the fight so whats the explaination for the Warrior when they pull agro off a hated DK with a few swings? |

What weapon was he using in relation to you? What level was he in relation to you? What level mobs were you testing on?
Unless there is some sort of bug I do not see an equal level warrior taking aggro off a DK by only using auto-attack. Also, I am pretty sure the +30% hate applies to our abilities only: Torture, Vex, Malice, Provoke, etc. Abilities like Vex/Malice give more hate than their damage component alone I believe. Warriors have two functions: do damage and get hate quickly. They do not have the utility that Dreads and Pallies have. We can all tank the same, and we can all get and keep aggro well. We just do it differently. Everyone seems to think this game is going to be like EQ where you had one MT and a bunch of OTs. That will not be the case. Raid mobs have abilities to wipe a tank entirely from combat for a period of time. Some of the encounters will require multiple tanks. Some encounters Warriors will tank better, some DKs, some Pallies.. we've gathered that from Sigil in one form or another. In groups it will not make a difference.

Keris - if you read the tool tip for physical resistance the last line in the list of like 5 sentances clearly states that it increases melee mitigation (the first line references spell mitigation)......is it worded incorrectly? |

Ok I was using a one handed arcadian longsword 1 handed 17.23 DPS (yes I know about a two hander and the DPS is generats but I choose to use my rare shield for the extra mit it provides lets not get into that debate) I was level 22 and fighting a mob that was a level 20 4dot in lord tsangs. The warrior Duel weilds the same exact weapon and he is level 25 .
I went through my hate progresson of spells and landed all of them and proceeded to countinue attacking he came in the fight at that time and pulled agro. I kind of got mad at him and said why the hell would you cast a rescue when were trying to test. He swore up and down that he simply turned on auto attack. Hummmm ok . I said lets try this again we went through the same thing and I would say he grabed agro from me in about 5 seconds . Thats the story and I do not think anything done different on my pat would have changed the outcome. We tried this a few times with him grabbing agro at various times during the fights. This is not clowning around or joking around we were seriously testing this for our own guilds benifit. Im the leader and I do test things during groups and raids to get the best outcome I possibly can. |

As to the other problems.....something was strange with aggro on Wednesday when I went to perform more aggro tests. I didn't notice a problem yesterday but it could have been there. Essentially proximity and first tag was not generating any additional aggro bonuses. We ended up having to scrap a lot of work because we couldn't be certain any of it was working. |

Lynxal - Not knowing whats working or whats working properly makes it very difficult to test anything .
Now about him duel weilding why should a warrior in auto attack nulify my entire catalog of hate generating skills in a few hits ? I do understand the concept behind the damage Duel weild can generate but why should he grab it so quickly when I have to basicly fight for it ? That to me seems very different then the tank classes being similar in the sense of grabing and holding agro. This same warrior also told me he had some Level 28 pally trying to grab agro form him and he could not do it. Is the warrior working as intented or is he rediculously overpowered on the agro department ? |

If you think about it for a moment why would they give an item AC at all if you could get resistance solely based on physical resists.

Considering a caster can cast AC buffs on me, and that buff (unless recently changed again) effects mitigation at a different rate per point than worn armor AC does, I figured anything is possible. I didn't realise that was the poison/disease resist slot. Makes sense since it was missing from the list. Thanks for the help. |
