I've been waiting a couple days and watching my hits before I posted, but I think I definitely have to agree with Jinxxer's main point, which is that there just isn't a big enough gap between the two based on their descriptions.

TeamSKKeris' numbers sound like what they should be, but I've never been able to get Wracks that consistently big. Definitely when it crits/epics etc it has much larger hits than Malice, but 400% vs. 150%? I'm just not seeing it.

Alot of time wrack finishes off a mob and it only shown the damage as the amount of hit point the mob had remaining.

I'm still seeing a big problem with this. The only benefit I'm seeing to wrack is the extra high dmg, low endurance cost attack ouside of auto-attack, and that's it. My Malice II is actually out damaging Wrack I more often now too (got lil higher dmg weapons, perhaps the dmg % increase in Wrack is not scaling?). I'm sorry, but wrack is a POS compared to what it's 'supposed' to be...esp. for a finisher.


oh, and wrack usually isn't finishing off the mobs, so that's a non-issue...at least for me.

I have now compared this whole idea with Greataxes (2h), Greatsword (2h), Longsword (1h) and Shortsword (1h). Same thing across the board...

Axes are not the best weapon to test on, as they have a VERY large damage range. The swords are better because their damage range is more compressed.

I noticed your issue last night, but only on one type of mob. It was a 4-dot humanoid protective fighter mob. Malice, Wrack and Ruin all hit for like 300s. It was strange and did not make sense.

However, that was the first time I have ever seen it.

Yeah, that's why I did it with the 3 types of swords, and a lot of that was before they even widened the damage range the little bit that they did.

But yeah, with the higher mitigation mobs, it really shows a lot more. I'll get to where Malice is hitting from around 120ish - high 100's with occasional 200's still...and Wrack will do 118, 172, etc. That's depressing as all hell to see.

Apologies if this has already been stated.

Here's another facet of information for you. You stated that you're operating at level 12 and the NPC's you're fighting are level 9-10. You have to consider the armor mitigation of your opponent. Against those beasties that are 2-3 levels lower than you are, you're probably doing a bit more damage as their armor isn't reducing it as much.

Yeah, I pointed that out several times in my inital post...BUT that being the case, then Wrack I would be doing more damage as well. Therefore that should have been a non-issue because I kept it consistant.

I'm now level 15 and am still seeing sub-par performance in Wrack compared to Malice. I'm sorry, but Wrack is weak. I'm not saying nerf Malice, cause that 15sec refresh is nasty enough as it is. I'm saying Wrack needs to be outputting more damage than it is. There is no reason that Wrack should EVER be hitting weaker than Malice, or being even as close as it is in damage.

My Malice III hits for about 250; my Wrack II for about 600, since this works fine for me.

I use a 1h longsword.
