Dread Knight Bugs and Issues.
Bugs:
Shadow Step: camera angle changes to obscure angles when this ability is used. Shadow Step still desincs PC from game causing the playing be viewed by MOBs and Party Members a like in one place when in fact the PC has moved. Also if PC moves directly after Shadow Step is unable to perform any action other than movement for a period of time ~10 sec. Armor of Darkness: No mitigation bonus. When switching stances there is no raise or lower of mitigation. Scourge: Ability is being rsisted entirely to often (My understanding is it is not a resistable ability). On the PvP server in PvE combat the defensive target gets a resist anouncment from scourge. Issues: Word of Doom - The 15 minute reuse timer is a rediculous over kill and has made this ability rather useless. This should be one of our mainstay combat abilities and one of our signature class defining abilitites. 5 minutes may have been to little of time, but 15 is a bit harsh. Suggest 10 minutes. Malice - the 15 second reuse timer on malice has significantly caused lower dps generation thus has significantly lowered our hate generation completely setting the Dread Kngiht back. This ability had a bug that was found just prior to launch caused something in one of the patches that caused the ability to do 2 x the dmg. This was the reason it did so much dmg NOT the reuse timer. Also the problem now is we only have one ability to use in combat on a continual basis, "Vexing Strike". Pressing "1" button over and over again is as exciting as watching grass grow. Suggest puting the reuse timer of malice down to the earlier mentioned but not implemented 6 second refresh or add another ability in that does soley dmg, nothing more no DC No bonus from flanking just good old fashioned dmg. Devour Strength This ability is debuffing for half of what it was prelaunch. -------------------------lvl------Bebuff Befor--------Debuff Now after luanch Devour Strength I---------1---------14---------------------10 Devour Strength II--------10--------29---------------------15 Devour Strength III-------20--------52---------------------25 Devour Strength IV-------30--------78---------------------35 Devour Strength V--------40-------105--------------------45 Devour Strength VI-------50-------?-----------------------55 This needs to return back to what it was prelaunch. Are secondary roll as primary debuffer is no longer. Also this directly affects our dmg as str is in the dmg equations ultimately effecting our hate generation. Back to ground zero again with hate. Reported Not Substantiated: Raveging Darkness: 1. High Miss rate. 2. If missed puts negative effect on PC. Abysmal Chains: High Resist rate in PvP. *Note: Edited this Post to Reflect what is Posted in the Dread Knight Class Lead OP on the OVF. By Sigil Class Lead forum guidlines the OP of the bug and issues thread must remain short and to the point. I have replied to my own post on the OVF with full detailed accounts and descriptions of these bugs and issues. Good list bro, that is all the high points.
Shadow Step doesn't re-angle camera to be behind us when in 3rd person view. Armor of Darkness is not indicating in the defense tool tip, and I don't think it is actually reducing damage either. Agro Control is sub-par. I group with Tazzrin constantly and his agro control is far superior to mine. Malice recast was said to be 6 seconds but it is 14 seconds. The reduction to Devour Strength was WAY to harsh considering the relative strength of other buffs and debuffs at similar levels. Word of Doom may have been too powerful at 5 minute recast but is a bit weak at 15 minutes, perhaps 10 minutes is a good medium. As far as agro control goes, the thing that bothers me the most about it is Torture. Although the concept is sound, it just isn't enough to have our hate build over time. The other tanks can achieve the same amount of raw hate instantly while we have to wait for that same amount to build up. I think the DoT component is fine, but the hate on it should be fully delivered at the onset. ALSO: Torture is a SPELL, it uses energy, has a resist component but it MISSES like a melee ability. If it resisted like it should then we could recast it when the global finishes, but as it stands now, it it MISSES we have to wait the full duration, and that can be deadly when used in the first few seconds of the fight when building agro is most important. In almost every case that Torture misses, I lose agro within the first 3 swings, even when spamming Provoke.

They need to get over the fact that they have at the core designed a tank class that requires DPS as a means to generate hate, give us back the skills with next to no refresh timer but the global timer and just accpet the fact that is the way it is due to THEIR DESIGN DECISIONS.
Sure people will complain but they have the superior taunts and superior heals we have DPS pure and simple case closed no need to discuss. |

Some things caught my eye when I ran a dungeon today with a quite capable group. (lvl 12 I am)
- The damage and hate dot (don't have the name at hand, apologies) seems to be resisted quite often by 3-5 dot mobs, without actually getting a "resisted" message in the log. It didn't show in the spell effects window of the target. - Word of doom is resisted around 66% of the time by said mobs. I use it as an extra rescue if I lose aggro, it seemed to get aggro back to me though nonetheless. - Armor of Darkness actually does absolutely nothing, couldn't observe a difference in damage taken whether active or not. |
