Well at level 12 the Drake grants the master a 10% AC increase. The static time on the Drake is supposed to be 1 minute, but if you can keep it entertained it will stay around indefinitely. You can rest assured that it will be fixed in the near future, but as it stands now, as long as the Drake has a foe to fight, it will stay alive until it is stagnant for a minute, you dismiss it, or it is killed. This is woefully unbalanced of course because they could keep a 10% AC bonus permanently if they keep it like this... which hardly seems balanced.
The Kurashasa ability will be great for early level agro management due to its AOE nature. Can cause havoc in tight areas though.

Lightning,
Kurashasa'n slow component of their racial, how dramatic is it? Is it like 75% attack speed slow type of thing, does it dramatically cut down damage that DK is taking? How long does it last? Can a random DPS class pull off agro from this racial in a split second, or does it take a few moments to beat the agro level generated by Kurashasa racial? ------------- as for Dark Elves' drake racial.... does anyone happen to know what it does at various other levels? Thank you for information guys ) I am debating between various races, I think DEF DK has good racial stat increase to my playstyle, but I would think that Kurashasa racial is just too damn good to pass up, if it slows and regens and AoE aggros at the same time, that could be tremendous help in a group situation when crown control fails. Thanks for your input. |

I can't remember exactly how much it slows by, but I do remember it was significant when I tried it on my lower level character when it was introduced (I think he was ~level 12 at the time). As has been said, havoc in a tight area though (as with any AoE).

As far as physical size, I am not certain if the Drake grows in that manner. I would hope not. Any one that ever played a pet class knows the flak you will receive for having a monstrous sized pet. I for one find large pets to be annoying.
As far as their abilities, according to the tool tip for the pet, it says they gain new abilities as the master levels up. I don't think they scale up in terms of mitigation, HP, or their damage output, but they should get another ability besides just the 10% AC buff when they get higher level. I have not heard what these abilities are or if they are actually doing it, but that is what the tool tip suggests.

I can almost guarantee you that the Drake would have more mitigation, HP and damage output at lvl 50 than at lvl 1...or else it would be useless.
Maybe I simply misunderstood. I would also hope that the Drake stays a manageable size. I also hope it stays on the friggin ground until it needs to attack...because in a raid - if it flies the entire time, you will be asked to dismiss it. -Cev

When I was playing around with mine, it was always on the ground. It may have been "flying" while moving around, but if it was it was very low to the ground.
As far as their mitigation and HP scaling, I suppose it would make sense so that it isn't instantly dispatched by higher level AOE but they would have to be very careful about making it too survivable since that would make it a practical tanking pet. Unless they fix the "bug" that lets it stick around permanently that is. If it only stuck around for the 1 minute that it should, then to me it should be invulnerable for that minute, but also incapable of being targeted so that it isn't an omni-tank for 1 minute. If it is reduced to its 1 minute duration, then having a racial that is killable kinda gimps the power, compared to the rest. I still maintain that they are making these racials too significant. These kinds of debates should be reserved for core and class abilities, not racial fluff.

I agree with you wholeheartedly 0K (Zero Kill lol) , i HATE the fact that I am choosing a race to play based on an ability, and not on looks. No1 is forcing me to be hardcore, but the fact is that if there is an extra edge to gain, I want it. Problem is how the hell do you set yourself apart from everybody else without gimping your selection.
