Ok, there's been some discussion about the effectiveness of Intelligence for DK.
I am lvl 14 this time around, and on my lvl 14...I decided to test what adding 3 intelligence did. These are tooltip numbers, so realize you may actually deal more or less than it says...but the tooltip says: LvL 14, with 36 int: Provoke: 30-35 hate, increases with DC. Torture: Deals 312-331 over 24 seconds, and adds 38-43 hate over that time. Doom Word Althen: 487-515 (I actually sometimes get this ti hit for 500+ even at 14...and then the next fight vs the same mob it will hit for 90. No clue) Harrow: This is my average findings for Harrow. With 36 Int, I get 155 HP back. OK At LvL 14 with 39 Int: Provoke: 31-36 Hate. Torture: 318-337, with 39-44 hate. Doom Al: 494-523. Harrow: An average of 162 HP. May seem trivial and small to some...but to me - this is gold. -Eclipse

A difference of 4 points in any stat will make only a small difference in numbers. But at max level, there will be a bit of difference. I still think that the dynamic stat allocation is meant as a way to augment your preferred playstyle. At max level you will be relying largely on equipment to outline the role you will be playing in groups, because the stats our equipment gives in total will perhaps even outnumber the levelled stats.
I will also go for the INT, STR, DEX stats, but as the game won't be out of beta at release, we can expect additional changes. I will need a good shield, of course, as DEX now goes into chance to block (for additional mitigation). |

I wonder if in about a year they will allow for a stat reallocation. I find it rather annoying being one of the people that start at the bottom floor with a new game. There is little known about how things work, and as the data is uncovered and things get re-tooled, the later generations of players will gain the benefit of that knowledge. For those that wish to test their metal and see what is what between stats can find themselves left in the cold because they chose to test things out... and while it is helpful, it can leave them gimped in the end if it doesn't work the way they hoped.
I for one think that the gains on INT are nice for our hate abilities. Only 3 INT granted +1 on hate which isn't bad at all. In fact I am glad you pointed this out because I didn't know that INT increased the raw hate gain on our taunting abilities.

Yeah, so at lvl 46, our Provoke is a straight 110 hate.
If you toss 120 INT into your character...the Provoke is a straight 140 hate. I mean, it's not a HUGE difference, but it is definitely noticeable. And Torture gains a ton in effectiveness...as does Word of Doom...bigtime upgrades for Doom. I found that Doom scales upward, while no matter how much int buffs I got - Torture was +2 dmg/int. so a random necro buffed me for +19 int. Torture went up by 38. Doom went up by 52. It made me boggle at the implications of a scaling Doom skill. -Eclipse

I only noticed a bit MORE of an increase to spell damage and aggro with the new patch. Nothing went down.
Our Doom words get +3 spell damage per point of int. Torture is still 2. We now get 1 point of hate for each of our hate spells for every 2 int. My theory got even better. -Eclipse
