Dreadknight Macros
Xaices and co.
Could you guys suggest some important DK macros? We've seen the Shadow Step -> Harrow Macro, so I was thinking it would be amazing to get a few more down. Particularly, one of my main questions is: Is it instant speed to equip and un-equip different weapons in combat with macros? Could you make a macro, that automatically changed your weapon when executing a certain attack, and then re-equipping the old one once it was over? I know that's incredibly silly, it just illustrates what I'm wondering for the range of macro-ability. Thanks a ton, -Eclipse

Code:
/wear "Random 1h Name" primaryhand /wear "Random Shield Name" secondaryhand /wear "random 2h Name" twohands Code:
/combatformset "Armor of Darkness" These Two macroes can be used with one another. i.e. Code:
/combatformset "Ebon Blade /wear "Great Sword" two hands Code:
/combatformset "Armor of Darkness" /wear "Long Sword" primaryhand /wear "Shield" secondaryhand hope that helps some.

The Dark God has spoken...very informative.
And I'd be very happy to see this kept up as we all level through out the game and experiemtn with new and interesting macros. When I do my Shadowstep - Harrow Macro, I'm going to also put in something about the air taking on a slight chill. But that's not important, if this thread could be filled with tanking macros like Xaices has posted...it would be amazingly helpful. I see Macros as basically, your character has learned how to USE the abilities...but making macros and combos more efficient...your character is naturally improving upon his own skill and technique. (Sorry, in an RP guild - I have this strange need to make sense of everything, lol...I'll try to kick it) -Eclipse

Some source information that helped me:
Vanguard Hotkeys for Dummies Complete List of Vanguard Commands Miscellaneous Defensive Form Code:
/wear "[sword name]" /wear "[shield name]" /combatformset "Armor of Darkness" /g "Ready to take on anything! (defensive stance)" Code:
/wear "[2h weapon name]" /combatformset "Ebon Blade" /g "Pouring it on! (offensive stance)" Code:
/targetnearestpccorpse /targetmycorpse /corpsedrag Code:
/endloot /lootall /loot /targetnextcorpse NOTE: Make the MT your defensive target or use the optional command with their name. Code:
/targetoffensive clear [/targetdefensive MT] /assist %td /g Assisting >> %td << Code:
/cast "Ranged Attack/Malice/Abyssal Chains/etc" /g Incoming >> <item=00000::0,0,0,>%to</link> << These hotkeys are for combat situations. I personally have our counter casting before our chains because that X second stun is almost more viable than X damage. But in different situations you might want to switch them. If you notice I put Slay at the top of some of the lists. I love this ability, and it works a lot of the time. It is however better to hide it in the attack buttons or you might forget about it. Pure Damage Use this once your DC is the highest possible to do more damage, which translates to more hate. Code:
[/cast "Slay [version]"] /reactionautocounter /reactionautochain /cast "Malice [version]" /cast "Vexing Strike [version]" Use this to quickly build your DC and then switch to the other hotkey. Code:
[/cast "Slay [version]"] /reactionautocounter /reactionautochain /cast "Vexing Strike [version]" Only for when you are behind a mob (not the MT). Code:
[/cast "Slay [version]"] /reactionautocounter /reactionautochain /cast "Harrow [Version]" /cast "Malice [version]" /cast "Vexing Strike [version]" Shadow step, life tap. Everyone should already know this one. Code:
/cast "Shadow Step" /cast "Harrow [version]" Quickly get into position after assisting an MT. It puts you behind the mob and since you will probably be at full health during combat start is better than the harrow endurance-wise. Code:
/cast "Shadow Step" /cast "Malice [version]" Snares the mob first, and then casts fear. You have to hit the key twice, but for soloing frees up a hotkey spot. Code:
/cast "Abyssal Chains [version]" /cast "Frighten [version]" These hotkeys are for combat situations. These are defensive themed hotkeys using our rescues, etc. Rescue! Rescues the group member specified, using an automatic rescue. If you add the third line (the cast) then you should have the mob you want to rescue from targeted. Code:
/targetgroupmember [2-6] /reactionautorescue [/cast "Seething Hatred [Version]"] /ttd "Incoming Rescue!" Changed two offensive hotkeys due to patch that changed recast time on Malice to six seconds. Some of them will now cast Vexing Strike if Malice is not up.
